A little local politics to start with, but some nice useful references sited.

Thank you for getting in touch via the Hackney Lib Dems website. My apologies for the delay in responding to
you.
It's fair to say that Lib Dem MPs and candidates hold a range of views when it comes to homeopathy, and
certainly, Evan Harris is known for his outspoken views on this (and other related) issues. My personal views
on homeopathy are based on evidence from randomised double-blind trials using scientific method, and as such,
the results from those trials demonstrate that homeopathic therapies can absolutely have a positive effect on
the condition in question, but only to the same extent that a placebo would.
I'm not going to pretend I have a different view - I don't see the point in that. But I would ask you to think
much wider than this one issue when it comes to who to vote for at the next General Election, such as the Lib
Dem commitments to a fairer tax system so that no income tax at all is paid on the first £10,000 of anyone's
earnings, for example. Or the commitment to a greener economy with more investment in sustainable green jobs.
This may not be the response you'd like from me, but I did want to get in touch all the same.

Can someone please enlighten me how the supposed ‘placebo effect’ is relevant to the following:
Animal studies?
Plant studies?
In vitro
studies?
Physics and
chemistry studies?
Fungus studies?
DNA studies?
Charles Darwin
’s
work with drosera?
If you ignore two thirds of the evidence, it’s not surprising lies win!
If you Lib Dems tolerate Evan Harris in your midst, there is no way I could trust you to represent me. I will
definitely not be voting for you in the forthcoming general election - and remember - there are between 6
million CAM voters out there (maybe as many as 25% of the Uk population) who are of similar mind.
