Hello! I have just joined this mailing list… First of all I would like to
introduce myself .I am Dr. Anita Salunkhe, faculty in Dr. Vijaykar school of
predictive Homeopathy. I would like to brief about our school. Our school
has made an attempt to correlate, explain basic fundamental principles of
Homeopathy in light of modern Sciences such as Embrology, Immunology,
Genetics, Physiology, Biochemistry etc. is there humble effort to make
homeopathy more scientific and to promote correct Homeopathy.Toward this

As the name suggest, during the treatment of a case they predict
a course which will be taken by the disease force and cure in advance after
giving the right genetic constitutional similimum. This prediction is made
on the principle of "Herring's law of cure But the argument put forward is
it is not seen in each and every case or it is not truly applicable in every
case .but if you approach every case with a knowledge of basic modern
science and theory of suppression and cure by Dr. Praful Vijaykar. The
Hering's law is seen in each and every case in day too day practise. with
this approach they get a a result [cure] in grave, chronic incurable disease
by above concept.

I am wondering if this group just advises what to use with the homeopathic pill-esque things I've seen at work (the gentleman I care for three days a week has a Dolisos Homeopathy set), or does anyone advise with the plants directly? And if say Arnica doesn't grow where I am at (in Michigan and just being used as an example) are there other herbs I could grow that would give the same relief. I'm not saying I need Arnica, I'm just giving that as an example. I don't know what I need. Just asking.

Firstly, homeopathy is not herbalism - it is energy medicine, using the energy that can be liberated from certain substances by careful preparation.
Also, homeopathy is not restricted to plants. It uses many more remedies - a lot from the plant kingdom but also many from the mineral kingdom, plus many from the animal kingdom....and others.
So growing plants is only the beginning - then you have to prepare the plants by maceration (this bit is similar to herbalism) but after some weeks you then have to go on to prepare the tincture homeopathically, by carrying out successive dilutions and 'succussions' to liberate the energy of the substance, sometimes diluting and succussing up to ten, fifty thousand or more times - all very time-consuming and expensive, which is why most homeopaths buy remedies from a homeopathic chemist.
The same plant can also have different healing properties depending on whether you prepare it herbally or homeopathically - as I said, homeopathy deals with energy - herbalism uses the crude substance. Both systems are valid, but have different philosophies, preparation and applications.
Herbs are great to grow and use yourself at home for home remedies, but you would be better off joining a herbal group, where you'll find advice on which plants grow in which kind of climate or environment and how to use them.

Congratulations on taking the initiative to explore the effective world of alternative/integrative medicine. Take some time to look into the various disciplines (also called modalities). Homeopathy is a totally different modality than herbal medicine. Perhaps the best place to start with homeopathy is a good book – such as Stephen Cummings and Dana Ullman’s Everybody’s Guide to Homeopathic Medicines. Anything by Dana Ullman will be well written and accurate. You’ll find a copy at most health food stores and local bookstores. There are also wonderful homeopathic bookstores online. You’ll also find several wonderful ‘specialty’ books such as homeopathy for pregnancy birth and children by authors such as Miranda Castro. Wandering around the internet you may come across some excellent information, but you will also come across some ‘less than accurate’ information. It is very difficult for the new explorer to know the difference – and you may find yourself getting some really bad information. Start with a good book before the internet and you’ll have a better chance of sorting through.
