Re: Vertigo case - Update

Post by Rochelle »

I am not getting very far with this one so I will tell you what has happened.
4th Dec Nux V - did nothing
11th Dec Sal Ac 30 - improved it a bit and because it did she kept taking it ( 3 or 4 days)although it caused a headache , until she contacted me and I told her to stop. She still has this headache there which she has never had before so I am presuming it is an agg from the Rx as I read the Clarke description to her
17th Causticum 200 - 1 dose . I have just spoken to her and this has done nothing. The slight improvement with the Sal Ac went back to how it was but she still has the headache. I can't find an antidote to Sal Ac so have told her to take 1 pillule in water , stir, take 1 teaspoon, put it in another 1/2 glass of water, stir and take 1 teaspoon. Reason? well normally for an agg I would give a lower dose and I haven't any!!!
I know there is not really time for assess the Caust properly but it has changed nothing, not even a little bit. I was thinking of trying the Nat Mur after reading Clarke to her over the phone. My only problem with Nat Mur is I don't see the M and E's with her but just maybe it is what she needs now. I have to say she sounded very cheerful over the phone.
Anyone any other suggestions please.

I dont recall if she had seen a chiropractor. Often vertigo can be due to a subluxation in the neck

What are the sx of the headache. Is it a headache that differs from the ones she has already reported to you?

Yes she has not had a headache like this before and I am convinced she has been proving the Sal Ac as when I read from Clarke to her she reckoned that is what it was like. It is in the Occiput more and is there all the time but worse morning and evening. She has also had what she describes as an electric current feeling passing through.

Deadly to read a MM to a client, better to ask for sx, as 'reckoned' isn't very scientific, does read somewhat like Sal-ac though. How does giving her more doses antidote what you've already given her?

OK - firstly I made a mistake when I wrote before as I did give her 6C when I checked my card on her. Now I think/read somewhere/told that a different potency can have different results and the proving symptom she had may not have happened/ may go away if given another potency. Therefore I am going to give her 1 dose of Sal Ac 30 from the second glass. I am trying this to 1) get rid of the headache and 2) see if it helps the vertigo as the 6 did improve this.
If it doesn't work I am going to Nat Mur as it does have a similar headache.
I only read MM to a patient after they have given me the symptoms.

I was going to say that with this 'proving' sx emerging then the Causticum might not have acted (I wouldn't personally, have used a 200c anyway), or seen to have acted.

There is still this possibility that this is a nbws that cold she had, with a sinus/ear sx developing, which we discussed earlier - did you use the 'vertigo, coryza' rubric, I can't remember. Verbascum is there, could be interesting, has the vertigo, ear problems, TMJ, left sided affinity (is the case left sided?) :-) Did you get any further with the <<< wind, btw

Was just curious.

I have an impacted C2 C3 vertebrae, which has been causing me considerable pain and drawing R side of neck radiating to a spot on side of head and around the ear and to R shoulder. and even over R scapula. I think coming from an old fall off a horse .Stretching and exercises help . One's pillow has to be just right. I try to walk a lot and loosen up. It tends to produce a lot of tension head and neck. Stretches and exercises help. In between times i can feel quite well.
The best one is hanging on by ones toes on to a step. On rising I would be quite dizzy and lurching to Left. on walking Dizziness even in bed. I had some relief from Phytolacca and then today by Strontium Carb 200c.which eased the intensity of the pain. I have also taken Calc Flour and the odd dose of Hecla Lava as one imagines all sorts of exostosis getting locked if in the wrong position for a while. I love the sun and being warm. Wind does not worry me however unless it is cold. While a hot shower is lovely Rhus Tox has not been any use.
Anyhow i was impressed by the Lizard element here. FWIW Jean Have seen a very good physio more of an osteopath but he is away now!!

I fortunately never had vertigo. However, I have been plagued with chronic neck problems which were
very debilitating for years. I have found the remedies very helpfu. Interestingly, no remedy did the whole
neck. but different remedies at different times would seem to relieve 1 vertebrae which has held long term.
I also found the remedies useful in dissolving calcium deposits which had built up in neck to shoulder area.
This has also held over several years now.
I also use Low level laser, often in the morning when I am really tight in the back, shoulder of neck. It loosens
me up immediately. I invested in a professional unit a few years ago when I saw the benefits of the unit.
My dentist, of all people, introducted me to the technology and let me experiment in his office with it. It is like
a grosser form of homeopathy (that may be a stretch).
