Ellen, thanks so much for posting this! I got "Appearance and Circumstance" a year or so back, and have been absolutely fascinated with it--but haven't pulled together time to actually *work* on it yet. (Well, I got some pics of my daughter to work on, then realized I hadn't done them right...) So I've had him on my "back burner", but you've inspired me to make more effort to get back to it--I do so look forward to hearing more about the class, and maybe I'll be able to do the next one.

I wanted to do his course when he was in London a couple of years ago but was double booked - a wedding or something. I wouldn't have the self discipline to do an online course/distance learning course these days but would prefer a live seminar.
Have you seen all the Rubrics under Face, Expression, appearance. They are really interesting and one of the reasons why I won't take on patients unless I can see them at least for the first consultation, in person.

But facial expression is such, or could be, a small part of the case.I remember David Mundy often saying that if you were alert enough you could zoom into a client's simillimum within a short time of their arrival. I have experienced that taking into account visual appearance, gait, demeanour, even odour but it can be a red herring if a client appears dressed entirely in black, for example, but neglects to tell you (because they weren't asked) that the rest of their entire wardrobe, which is bright red, is in the wash! )
