Hi Liz,
I'd like to go even further and say that drug use can be part of any miasm. Just like any miasm can have an ulcer. It isn't drug use or ulcer that determine the miasm - it is the whole picture of why, how, what, when etc that gives the miasm.
Psora would seek stimulants to keep them going, maybe even to work harder or unwind from work. Sycosis probably just because they seek experience but there may also be an aspect of needing to hide weakness. There will be a sense of poetic romance adventure and travel around the Tubercular use and a sense of matyrdom/death wish for Syphilis.

Hi Gail
I've been to a conference on new treatments for cancer, and heard two German doctors speak and saw their scans of the brain and the changes it can undergo - incredible! And they're getting cures of cancer with just psychological treatment, once they work out which emotion the changes refer back to.
re: drugs and sycosis - yes, I think they can be sycotic (the desire to try everything to excess) But drugs or alcohol that are taken to forget something painful can be syphilitic - a kind of death wish sometimes. They know it's killing them but can't stop. I think this is particularly true of hard drugs like crack or heroin. Do you know what kind of drugs he did - and why? What was the feeling behind it?
