Yes it would as we don't know the ultimate layer under what we are treating now.
And I am not trying to. You can only treat what you see..........the symptom picture at the time. And then you work back through. You don't treat all at once.
You can only treat using symptoms you see now - not what is in the past

Then you are talking ideal situation.
And I would suggest it is a moot point as you will never see one.
If they were totally healthy maybe NO remedy would match them as there wouldn't be a symptom picture to determine a remedy
We don't take into account the healthy aspects when taking a case.

We see it in the symptom picture. We don't need to identify a system as they are all inter-related.
It is the symptoms that tell us and the symptoms that are working to dissipate the disturbance (but stuck in the case of chronic illness)

Hi Sheri
Yes - so how can any one of those be a constitutional remedy? That's what I don't understand in your definition.
And with regard to your comment about health - well, yes. What is health? We all have disturbances, but then it's a good thing we do. It shows the vital force is re-acting well and flexibly - as it should.
And I would argue that a disturbance - a cold, a day of fatigue - is not really ill-health, actually. It's normal - part of this 'healthy response'. We can't avoid stressors - a reaction is healthy, would you not say? As long as it is shaken off, and doesn't linger.
I look at my cat - George - sitting by my computer monitor, keeping me company! He's 8 years old; has a raw food diet; is full of life and mischief; has the odd little thing from time to time, but has shaken them off. I would say he's very healthy. He's very much a Silica cat - has sweaty paws sometimes and it's important to him to hang around the kitchen when we're all in there in the evening - family!! He was also quite timid when younger. But over the years he has grown in confidence, and I like to think that the odd dose of Silica has helped this (my vet also suggested giving him a dose from time to time for no special reason)
Anyway, I'm going to bed now! Speak to you tomorrow, maybe.
All the best
Liz

A guide, but not infallible
And it was just adding an observation, not changing the system as it is.
It really makes it easier to just follow the organon.

Otherwise we are no different than allopaths with all our empty speculations based on no principles whatsoever

Aphorism 1, Footnote 1

"The physician's calling is not to concoct so-called systems from empty conceits and hypotheses concerning the inner wesen (my note-kind of like nature or knowing) of the life process and the origins of disease in the invisible interior of the organism (on which so many physicians mongering for fame have hitherto wasted their time and energy). "

"The physicians calling is not to make countless attempts at explanation regarding disease appearances and their proximate cause (which must ever remain concealed) holding forth in unintelligible words or abstract and pompous expressions in order to appear very learned and astonish the ignorant, while a sick world sighs in vain for help. Of such learned fanaticism (to which the name 'theoretical medicinal art' is given, and for which special professorships are instituted) we have had quite enough. It is high time for all those who call themselves physicians, once and for all, to stop deceiving suffering humanity with idle talk, and to 'begin' now to act, that is to really help and to cure."

Hi Sheri
Yes, it's too complicated to go into all the variations on dose and potency that have been suggested over the years - decades - centuries since Hahnemann started. So I read and cogitate, but am fairly retsrained in my prescribing. Prefer liquids, but do use dry too. And I like low potencies daily if I am trying to treat alongside allopathic medication for the same condition. Nothing high seems to cut through it otherwise.
See my later post about using liquid v. dry doses, and also look at the work of Dr. Roz (Fibonacci potencies) Burnett (lots of tinctures) Pritam Singh (ascending potencies over a few days) Vega Rosenberg (use of 6C potencies daily - says it's the best way with chronic cases or pathological changes) Ramakrishnan (plussing in liquid) plus others, whose names escape me, but who I could find if you're interested (one homeopath who gives remedies during the consultation EACH TIME she sees an indication for it e.g. telling of a loss, with tears or sighing, she'll bung in some Ignatia, then, moving on if the patient gets angry about something in her life story she'll move on to another remedy - etc etc. A bit crazy - no?) Then there's yet another woman (strictly classical - whole person prescriber) who gives ONE dose and then waits six, eight, twelve months before re-taking the case or giving another dose or remedy!! Says she gets excellent results and that most homeopaths are too quick to change or repeat the remedy. So many variations! And there are more...!
