That's what I said below

It is the remedy that matches the chronic picture - the total picture of the constitution/person at the time.

That is a bit ridiculous.
Well, he doesn't say to treat men or treat women either.

I don't see how you can give a preventative constitutional treatment.
I have never seen a healthy person
All are in various states of imbalance disturbance and we treat the person.
I haven't seen a totally healthy person so I have never treated one.

if you are totally healthy and have no symptom picture what do you use to find the remedy?

I see this came thru again with more added to the bottom
The immune system is only one aspect and is not interchangable with the Vital Force. Not the same thing
The neurological system may be the first to crash. Just don't need to look at systems that are artifical constructs - they all over lap.
We work with the vital force.
yes, you are right

But Sheri - if that is your definition, the constitutional remedy would always be shifting!
"the total picture of the constitution/person at the time."
At what time - at the age of two, when she has had a couple of colds and some teething problems? At the age of 16 when she has painful periods? At the age of 28 when she miscarries for the third time? At the age of 45 when rheumatoid arthritis sets in? No single remedy would treat all these. And you would not be able to build one, single picture from this. The modalities would have shifted, the generals too. At 16 she may have adored sunbathing - by the age of 45 she can't bear to sit in direct sunlight. Which general are you going to take? If you take the one from when she was 16 you're not going to find the remedy for the arthritis.

I have never seen one either! But at college we were told that's the best time to prescribe. And what do you give them? Their CONSTITUTIONAL remedy!! :) :)

Hi again
No - of course you're right. The vital force is not interchangeable with the immune system. But we see the vital force expressed in the immune system (or any part of the body, come to that) It's the symptoms of the body that tell us if all is well with the vital force or not.
Would you not agree?

In the Kentian sense, or in the Eizayagan sense? :-/ (I'm thinking they probably meant the Kentian...)

oh my gosh.............I am absolutely dumbfounded.

all that you need to practice quality homeopathy is in the organon.
ALL!

What a tragic situation we are in.

Here are some questions I tell people to ask to try to be sure (as sure as they can) they have a quality true homeopathic practitioner who actual follows the Organon which is the manual of homeopathy

So this is for those of you who are students or looking for practitioners:
Call and interview THEM first and ask the questions below

You can tell a lot from that. If it is hard to reach them, then may be hard to reach them later when you need them

Also can tell whether you get on well
Many people take a few workshops and think they do homeopathy - or read a few books - or study for a year.
It take a long in depth study .

Here are some questions to help determine quality

Their credentials which implies quality, but I have found otherwise.

Questions

1. Where did you study homeopathy? (should be a specific program or intense study with a particular knowledgeable person)

2. How long did you study? (should be a number of years - usually 3 or 4 or more)

Also what other postgraduate education have you had?
3. Who did you mentor with? (who did they have their clinical experience with)
4. Do you mix homeopathy with herbs, drugs, other things??? Or do you ONLY use homeopathic remedies.
(answer should be ONLY homeopathic remedies other than maybe nutritional advice)
5. Do you use just one remedy at a time (should use 1 remedy and use it in water). Should have follow ups by phone within a few days of taking the remedy in water. Should not have you taking more than one remedy or taking them on a routine basis (usually) or alternating remedies
6. What type of potencies do you use? Dry or water potencies? (best answer is water potencies)
7. Have you read the Organon? (the main source to learn homeopathy and KNOW the principles).
If so, how often do you read it? What edition of the Organon do you base your work on? (most good homeopaths are reading it constantly or at least yearly & should be reading the 5th & 6th edition - but even those who say they do, are still not giving remedies in water)

8. What is your view on allopathic vaccination (so many homeopaths don't have clue about the dangers of vaccinations, believe it or not even though it is so obvious if you know homeopathic principles, so don't expect enlightenment here - it is up to you to educate them! - they seem to have a blind spot here and as brainwashed as the rest of the world in many cases - join me in educating them!)

Some of them don't like to say until they know you because of fear of reprisal by allopaths and spies.

9. Have you had experience treating someone with similar symptoms to my child before? (not vital, but helpful - homeopathy doesn't treat by disease name but by symptom pictures, but it helps if they know this kind of condition)
10. How available are you in an emergency, nights, weekends?
1. Find out how accessible they are to talk to
2. What about after hours/weekends
My article gives you an idea how a homeopath works

Oh Liz,
Wean yourself off the Organon?

How tragic.

Hi Sheri
This is all a bit of a wind-up, actually! I'm afraid the devil gets into me sometimes. But there is a grain of truth in what I said.
I don't throw out the Organon - of course, I don't! It's the basis for everything - and where would we be without Hahnemann's brilliance and patient, methodical development of the basic principles of homeopathy.
But...I think times have changed and ideas have moved on. I think there are a lot of good ideas which have been developed from there - especially in potency selection. And - one example - where would you be without Hering's Laws of Cure? They are so important. Do you use them as a guide? They're not infallible, but very, very useful.
Personally, I'm eclectic - so I start with taking each case in the same way, but I may take a different direction afterwards. I prescribe on what's presenting - then I see what would help most. I may start by a detox - often do when there is a history of allopathic drugs. That clears the way for the next remedy, which will then be clearer and will work better. And I like to use organo-therapy, or bowel nosodes from time to time too.
So I'm not classical, or at least not every time, but I'm not going to limit myself to prescribing strictly as in the Organon, that's all.
Liz
