How did you determine the frequency that he takes the remedy?
How frequently did he take the remedy?

No one should be put on an LM potency every day automatically.

And when the bottle is empty you go to LM2

Can you tell me the above?

thanks
Sheri

Dear Sheri,
Thanks for all the info!
Due to the chronicity of the problems (10 years) and the deep and slow quality of Silica -- he took the rx every 2 days, and was asked to stoop if a significant amell or agg will happen.
Robin Murphy wrote in a forum, that a person can be on one LM potency even for months -- if he is still improving.
How long OR how many doses of this rx are reasonanle to be taken on one potency (LM/1 in this case)?
Thanks.
Regards
Rafy

Hi Rafy,

Just FWIW, on the few people I've used them with (I only treat a few, and haven't used LMs with all of them), each of them has gotten months of use from each potency, and two of them got a rather long response from *each* dose, so it was repeated only infrequently, and as-needed rather than on any schedule. They (we) observed the response to the first dose, observed the nature of the improvements (specific symptoms as well as overall amelioration), observed how long it took for relapse to begin, and what symptom began first to return, then used all of that to decide when to re-dose. In that situation it works well simply to re-dose at the first sign of a returning symptom--or scheduled for just before that would begin. When response begins to become less robust, one can move to the higher potency.

In one case we went to a higher LM while the first was still acting fine, because the bottle got lost. That worked fine too.

I'd think that in a case where the person needs frequent (daily or etc.) dosing to maintain progress, maybe then it makes sense to move on to next potency at the end of the bottle, because a higher potency may give more movement??? But in my limited experience, I think you can judge repetition and time for potency increase in pretty much the same way as you would with dry doses--can continue what you were doing as long as it's working well, bringing ongoing *improvement* (not just maintaining what's already been gained); when response to each dose becomes less, then it's time to change potency (or possibly remedy).

If the person is repeating on a schedule, I find it useful to have them now and then stop, and see whether the needed pattern is the same. If the time between needed doses is growing longer (and they are continuing to have no complaints between doses), then the potency doesn't need changing for now; if the time between needed doses is growing shorter, that would be another signal to move to next potency.

(Of course if anyone feels any of this is wrong, I am very happy to be corrected! But that's how it's seemed to me.)

Best,
Shannon

What I've read says that you can keep dosing with the same potency and there will come a point where you cause an aggaravation - not the immediate first aggravation that can happen when you first start dosing and which you use to guide you on the size of the dose. The second aggravation can happen when you've been dosing for a while on a set pattern and indicates to stop the remedy and assess - no return of symptoms = no need to take a remedy. Return of symptoms means increase the potency and continue.

I've wondered about that, since I've never seen it!
I assume it happens when the remedy is no longer *needed* with the same frequency, but each of my folks instead simply go longer and longer between doses, until eventually the picture changes. (Well, one of them goes longer and longer until she forgets all about the remedy, then months later the same symptoms come back, and I say, "Have you tried your _________?" and she says, "Oh, I forgot about that! I'll try it." And it works again. We've gone through this several times... I think she's a candidate for a high potency dose!)

Well, I was wondering if, instead of beginning to spread the doses out
as you describe according to symptoms - the dosing continued along daily
without adjustment - in theory there would be a build up of the remedy
that could lead to the second aggravation.

I thought the point of exploring the first aggravation response is to
find the size of the dose that will be tolerated daily.

That's my response, that it's "build up" of unneeded remedy (or at least unneeded potency of the remedy) that leads to the second agg.

And yes, if you get a first agg, that means too strong a dose.
Tho I do like David Little's instructions (www.simillimum.com ), which advise to begin with a "test dose"--give dose and *wait* a few days, to see not only whether there's agg, but also to see whether they *need* daily doses (most people don't).

But what do you feel was incorrect in what I said?
I did mention testing for frequency...?
