Yes..thats the name of it. I thought she said to me that it was the high blood
pressure which had caused the bad heart but i'll find out later. She lives in
same building with man but apparently he is always sleeping. Anyway, I asked
her about his mental state and the following is what she came up with...but
i'm still interested in the crataegus as a possible therapy.
"He says he grew up in a negative atmosphere where his father had a dark
pessimistic side , but was not physically abusive , ; Harold lets
almost anything irritate him and is very hard on himself --if he spills
something , he goes bizurck and pounds his fist on a table for example
and says " why me Lord? " also he say " Lord, please don't fuck with me
today " as if he is nothing but bad luck --another favorite saying over
something little like cant get his shoes tied or he drops something is ;
He never gets truly angry or revengeful or hold on to anger at others
--its just constant negativity over the littlest things; He is one of
those people always in a hurry -doesn't like to wait in line -doesn't
like drivers who go ahead of him --even tho he doesn't drive and has no
reason to be in a hurry as he is always an hour early for any
appointment or for bridge etc he is the first one there----A lot of
people like Harold as he is hardest on himself and really easy with a
beginner or newcomer to Bridge --just us old-timer's that he gets
irritated with if we make a mistake at the Bridge table and he is super
hardest on himself if he makes a mistake--wont let it go; Away from the
bridge table , he is nice , but not to someone he knows really
welll---what I mean is to me or another of his regular partner's ( and
I might add these are the friends who help him --shop etc ) he let's all
his negativity come out , again mostly at Life in general and little
things --If you are doing him a favor , he is not organized and is
inconsiderate- if you are going to the store and he wants something he
wants you to go when he is not sleeping even tho he sleeps during the
day and almost round the clock on and off--- HE IS A MIXED BAG ---HAS
FEW GOOD DAYS AS FAR AS THE LITTLE IRRITATIONS---HE IS HAPPY TO GO TO
BRIDGE, BUT SWEARING WHEN HE HAS A HARD TIME GETTING IN THE CAR---it is
better now , because he takes the metro mobility because he has to be in
the motorized wheel chair and cannot go in my car--so he is much more
pleasant, because he is already at the bridge game waiting and because
his time is limited he seems more patient and pleasant-although I will
play bridge with him for the first time ( since his diagnosis ) tonight
'; so I will let you know if the changes are significant. , But
yesterday , when I picked up his medication at Walgreen's , he said
thank you and was accommodating as to ( you can drop it off whenever it
is convenient to you , but I am supposed to take it three times away and
I am out of it---no planning on his part calls at last minute , but was
not negative or demanding and said if I couldn't he would do without
until I could --that it was not critical. New behavior , but still
manipulating in a way although he is just not a planner or considerate
of other's time until after the fact and then he says thank you and
realizes how demanding and inconsiderate he was ---before he did not
seem to get that ( before this visit to the hospital is what I am
referring to throughout this info"
