If it isn't one thing..its another. My husband was using an electric saw on
wednesday and cut off about an inch slice length wise on each of his 3 middle
fingers on his right-hand...(he is left handed). They wrapped him up in cast
and gave him antibiotics and vicodan. Thursday night he had his 3rd dose of
vicodan and his first dry dose of Hyp1M. Since then he has not had to use the
pain killers at all. He had second dry dose of hyp1M Friday morning. Friday
evening he felt sparks shooting from his fingers. I gave him his third dose of
Hyp1M in water and within seconds he felt no more weird electrical things and
this morning he woke up feeling that the swelling had gone down and he could
now feel his hand..no pain. Nothing. Thanks to Shannon for giving support for
the last few days and giving me all the possibilities of remedies that may be
needed in time for this accident. I did not give him arnica because there had
been lots of blood at first cause so much tissue , muscle and even a bit of
bone was gone and i didn't want to risk any blood flowing again.

I thought it might be interesting to share one of my own arnica-versus-hypericum stories. A few years ago a cow stepped on my foot--the edge of her hoof landing right at the base of my big toenail. Talk about owwwww....! I finished the chore, hobbled back to the house, thinking as I went, "arnica or hypericum?" Hypericum because of crushing injury to herve-rich area; arnica because... well, mostly because I *usually* start with arnica, so that's what I did. Sat at the table waiting for it to kick in (ETA about five minutes?). Five minutes came and went, and I realized that not only was I not feeling better, but I had "graduated" to writhing in my chair, cursing loudly and vigorously at the *excruciating* pain!!!! Finally I registered, duh, add "unreasonably painful injury", and the message is HYPERICUM, you dope! Hypericum (200c or 1M, I forget) took the pain down within a couple of minutes, whew.

I also had a prior incident, many years back with my daughter, where I began with Arnica when it should have been Hypericum (barrette crushed into her tender scalp by a falling baby brother, sigh sometimes I marvel that most of them live), and saw a similar thing--Arnica actually made the pain *worse*, but then when hypericum was given, stopped it very quickly.

So I think now I'm more inclined to begin with hypericum when the situation seems to *say* hypericum, esp. injuries to the fingertips, toes, coccyx, and maybe scalp. And it's also made me advise adding Hypericum to everyone's acute care kit, if they don't have it! (Several of my friends stocked arnica but not hypericum; I hope that's changed by now.)

i have 2 hypericum stories i can share.
a number of years ago i was watching my kids fight over the stove while
i was working in the next room on a table saw. well i sliced my hand up
including cutting off my index finger and slicing through the middle finger
(ugh). i began with hypericum 30c which i needed every 20 minutes so
knew this wasn't going to cut it. i was so new to homeopathy then. called
the guy i had been studying with and i think he got me 200c. went through
the entire healing without pain; never had phantom finger. and probably
got more use of my hand back than if i took allopathic meds. the idiot

Tanya, what a wonderful experience with the paralyzed guy! It would have been so interesting to hear the rest of the story, if he'd stayed to work more with you--but what a great development! Phew, it's a great reminder to "assume nothing," just be willing to try.

i still get chills thinking about that case. i told him i had no idea what we could do,
but that i was willing to give it a try. and when his mental/emotional energy shifted
so dramatically, i just felt we had acheived a great level of cure--he got his life back
and i was thrilled. i would have loved to know how far the physical healing could have
gone. but have noticed that my nerve healing continued over several years. even
with my lyme disease and the bell's palsy that developed, the nerve healing is still
changing slowly and that is a 9 yr old condition.
