huge orange blister

Hi,

This is the case I asked about before. I saw the px - she has a huge orange blister on her leg. Around 2.5 inches in diameter, 1.5 inches in height. It's a reaction to bites, but she's had clusters of bites (apparently from the same mosquito) and only has the reaction sometimes. However, over time when she has the reaction it's getting worse. The blister is transparent and orange coloured. She says it becomes more opaque over time. When she has lanced these blisters in the past, she's left with a mark on the skin, roughly .5 inch in diameter, of a mottled brown colour. Not so much coppery as previously reported.

She really wants a solution through homeopathy as she sees that the reaction is getting worse, and that when she intervenes (lancing) the area does not heal properly. This case just seems so totally one-sided - no M/E unusual to the period, no history apart from the smallpox vaccination treatment for warts, no hot or cold sensation on the site of the blister, no bathing agg or amel modalities, not even the location modality as she has had these blisters elsewhere on her body over the last 3 months. Someone asked: the smallpox vaccination treatment was given in the US and was considered standard at the time. I live in Israel, and the px lives near Tel Aviv, an area where there are a lot of mosquitos. She has checked for bedbugs and other bugs, but very often the reaction happens on the site of several ordinary mosquito bites, the others go the usual route, but the blister can contain two or three bite sites.

She has had a tendency to encapsulate bites in the past, but not in this way. The problem started around 3 months after a trip to India - she did not get vaccinated before the trip.

She has received Nit-Ac in the past which has been helpful to her, it seemed to be indicated in this case on the basis of the phone call I received, but it didn't help, and having seen the px I don't feel it's the appropriate remedy.

Any ideas?

Dear Vera, is there any indication as to what is inside the blister and is there any other indication of an allergic type constitution in her case? I can't remember from your other post as to whether there is any sensation with the blisters such as itching or tingling - that would be useful if you have anything like this.

Graphites, Apis and Rhus would be other obvious rx to look at.

Have you tried looking at the underlying case--consider what remedy(s) might be indicated if this reaction weren't part of the picture at all, and/or other remedies related to Nit-ac, or that share the qualities you noted in the phone call? But in any case, see what case you can get completely aside from the bite reactions?

Clear transparent fluid (she drained it partially yesterday), no smell, maybe slight itching. Didn't seem to be enough redness, heat and itching for Apis and Rhus. What do you see as Graphites indications? I've been looking for the orange colour through the literature, closest I could find was Kali Phos, which can have orange secretions, but nothing else in the remedy fits.

Thanks for input,

been there, done that - she's been in homeopathic treatment with me for years. None of the remedies I've given constitutionally in the past touch this.

thanks,

I was wondering about that - my questions are whether this really relates back to that treatment all those years ago (no proof), and whether there are indications in the current situation for these remedies?

Ah, got it...
Well, investigating all the smallpox vaccinations surely seems reasonable. I can't access my software and don't know the picture of smallpox vaccine, but possibly in addition to that, maybe also look (for possible symptom similarity) at any remedies associated with smallpox in general--I think you said you've given Thuja; also I find Malandrinum mentioned, and no doubt there are others.

i would find out more about that trip to india as it is chronologically related to the appearance of the blisters.
but barring any evidence from that, i'd think detoxing with smallpox vaccine would be the way to go.

I was working from the point of view that this could be related to cellulitis/erysipelas and graphites is one of the rx that is indicated "for the eradication of tendency to erysipelas" and has the orange to reddish coloured eruptions/vesicles. Allergic constitution and she could have an underlying streptococci problem?
