An article or book on school of thought in homeopathy

Post by Dana Ullman, MPH »

Friends,

A colleague asked me if I know of any articles reviewing the history, philosophy and methodology of the various schools of thought in homeopathy?
...either book length or simply an article?

I could not think of one. Can anyone else?

Dear Dana
There is a book we had at college - and very useful it was, too!
It's called "A Guide to the Methodologies of Homeopathy" and it's by Ian Watson. It covers a lot of different schools of thought and approaches, from classical/Kentian to arborvital, isopathy, layers, organ remedies, sequential prescribing etc etc. There are 19 different approaches discussed.
I highly recommend it.

Only 19? Does that include his method whereby if you give the wrong remedy by mistake (e.g you weren't wearing your glasses and you meant to give Cham but picked up the Chel bottle instead), it will cure the patient anyway. I love that one.

How about "A Guide to the Methodologies of Homeopathy" by Ian Watson?

Principles of Prescribing by K.N.Mathur is a good book. I have read the first edition of the book and it carries information pre 1980 era.

I am not sure if even the latest edition has anything of the newer periodic tables, delusions and other Bombay school developments.
