Thanks Stewart and others for comments on Apis, and Piet, thanks for the
Peter Morrell site - it is beautiful.

Does anyone actually know for certain if it was just a female honeybee that
was used in the proving. Clarke says 'bee poison' and also 'tinctures made
from the whole bee'. I have also read that more than one crushed bee was
used - so it is a little unclear. Drones, by the way, have no sting. Can
anyone elaborate?
