If you had seen some of the notes I sent out many moons ago on case taking,
I did mention that every pt has three sets of symptoms:
1- Those that they are aware of and wish to inform you about
2- Those that they are aware of and DO NOT wish to inform you about
3- Those that they are UN-aware of and consequently cannot hide! These are
the uncompensated symptoms which good observation will solicit.
As part of my case taking, towards the end, when the new patient has built a
degree of trust, I often ask, is there any thing that you had decided NOT to
tell me about!! Sometimes the answer to this question is the key to the
problem!
