After a lot of thought, I have decided to pursue training for professional classical homeopathy. I have to do it through an online course, at least initially.
What are your suggestions for the best online training in classical homeopathy? I may not be able to afford the best, but it would be nice to know what you think the best is. Hopefully, out of all your suggestions I can find one that would work for me.
I am very self-directed, so I am open to the possibility of simply buying books/materials and studying them myself. But I would still need apprenticeship in case-taking, wouldn’t I?

I don't know where you are based, but there is an excellent distance learning course with the School of Homeopathy in Devon, UK, which I did whilst my children were growing up.
It takes the form of modules that you work through, sending off your assignments to your personal tutor as and when you complete them (I imagine this can be done by email now) but when I did the course, my tutor had students in America and Asia who posted her their assigments. There are also additional study days (on a monthly basis, and held with a homeopath that is in your area) that you can attend as often as you like for extra knowledge and support.
The course is rigorously classical, and very detailed - there is a detailed reading list that you have to buy, and CDs you are sent. You study lots of philosophy, application of the Organon and its priciples, methods of studying individual remedies so that you remember them, case taking precepts, repertorisation (they work with Kent's repertory) etc. Use of a computer is frowned on - you need to know your remedies and work them out yourself initially.
There is also an accompanying anatomy and physiology course that you have to do unless you are already a nurse, for example, plus a pathology and disease course that has to be undertaken (all do-able from a distance). The beauty of the course is that you can take it at your own speed - reading around the subject as much as you like etc.
After you have completed the distance-learning modules, you then transfer to the - or another - college to do your practical training. I couldn't get down to Devon for the long weekends, so I transferred to another college to finish my course. And that was great for me.
