Susceptibility - Good or Bad?

Recently one of the colleagues wrote that 'susceptibility was good!'
But what does that mean?
Does it mean that it is good that our defences are low and can succumb to the "attack of the morbific causes"?
We also know that quite often when someone is receiving good homeopathy, they are in a good state of health and do not easily catch 'epidemic diseases' or if they do, the episode is mild.
So was it bad that our susceptibility to such diseases was reduced?
The answer in my mind a clear NO!
However, please note that out our susceptibility can exist on all the levels of our being, specifically, physical, emotional and mental.
We also know that the Vital Force when strong will cause symptoms to occur as far away as our main organs as possible. So when we get a good skin symptom we know that the VF is functioning well - as opposed to when for example in a case of chickenpox we have a few spots. (BRY). Such a symptom would immediately indicate that the VF is in needs of assistance.
Now it has often been reported that the patients in mental hospitals very rarely catch colds etc.
If true - is it because the VF is so weak that it has not been able to defend the most vital of the being - its mind - and therefore cannot exhibit symptoms elsewhere?
In that case, I would rather be susceptible on the physical planes rather than the mental / emotional ones.
[There is an old prayer: Lord, before you take my mind away, please take my life away!]
