Friends,
I'm a homeo-mom who helps family and friends. One of my friends has an
inguinal hernia. I'm finding it under abdomen/pain in Kent. I'm wondering
though, if, when the pain goes, the hernia is also gone/repaired, in your
experience. Thanks very much for any info on the healing of a hernia. Best,
Margaret

Re: hernia
Hi Margaret,
Hernia: a protrusion of an organ or part through connective tissue or
through a wall of the cavity in which it is normally enclosed -- called also
rupture.
Lack of pain wouldn't necessarily indicate that the ruptured wall/membrane
had healed, or had healed fully to the point where re-occurrence was
unlikely.. re-injury, especially during convalescence is
It's completely possible that a relatively painless herniation could
persist, a situation which I'd think COULD be contributed-to by homeopathic
palliation of pain.
For correct repertorization- in addition to the usual/important
concommittants & other individualizing features of the case, study these
rubrics:
ABDOMEN - DISTENSION - Inguinal region - hernia
ABDOMEN - HERNIA; ABDOMINAL
ABDOMEN - PAIN - Inguinal region - hernia
ABDOMEN - PAIN - Inguinal region - hernia - appear; as if a hernia would
ABDOMEN - PAIN - Sides - protrude; as if hernia would
ABDOMEN - PAIN - Umbilicus - Region of - hernia would protrude; as if a
ABDOMEN - PAIN - pressing - Umbilicus, region of - hernia would protrude; as
if
ABDOMEN - PAIN - sore - Inguinal region - hernia, in
ABDOMEN - PAIN - stitching - Inguinal region - hernia, in
ABDOMEN - PROTRUSION - Here and there, as if a hernia would form
I don't know what the exact odds are on the healing of such a condition with
homeopathy, but we do have plenty of reports cure... it seems there could
easily be a situation of palliation, but with perhaps a minor protrusion
acting as mechanical "obstacle to cure" of the membrane/wall that was
ruptured.. I'm certain that it'd be worth a medical examination including
perhaps an ultrasound to assess healing of the condition (or immediate, OF
COURSE, if pain/swelling becomes intense, even more instantly immediate if
red/heated area or elevated temperature, like emergency-room) -keep in mind
that your medical-expert will likely recommend surgery- or risk malpractice,
per standard medical practice/authority. Medical authorities generally agree
that surgery (perhaps laparoscopic) is necessary to
1. be certain that intestine or other protrusion won't become strangulated
in the future (has actually been returned to it's proper position)
2. the "rupture" thru which the protrusion occured is closed.
If your friend elects to use homeopathy and does not seek medical care (I'd
be very leery of "advising" this! -this *is* "a medical condition" and in
practicing homeopathy, I make a point to neither diagnose nor treat such,
always asking if client has consulted medical authority; recommending s/he
do so if not.. but to still feel free to make h/ir own "informed" decision
based on what education can be brought into the picture) -they should
probably be REALLY careful of mechanical stress (lifting, exercise, etc)
during convalescence. (6wks or so, minimum)
