Ah thanks - Morbus is latin for "disease".
In USA, it is called Addison's Disease (and there is only one name
used for it)
or Cushing's Syndrome (not disease) as there are several forms of it
of which "Cushing's Disease" is the (commonest) form involving
pituitary ACTH-producing tumors specifically.
ACTH hormone tells the adrenals to make cortisol..... the common
factor in all Cushings being high cortisol.
There is also Carcinoid Cushings, Ectopic Cushings, Oat tumor
Cushings, Adrenal hyperplasic Cushings, Adrenal adenoma cushings,
Cyclical Cushings, Pseudo-Cushings - all part of the "Cushing's
Syndrome" group of diseases.......
....just to muddy the terminology waters thoroughly:-)
Each version of Cushings *Syndrome* is named for the source of the
coritsol in that version of it.
Namaste,
Irene
