Hello Irene;
I've heard you and others mention how a cat will select a remedy most suited for its well being. Our 14 yr old has high phosphorus levels in the kidney as well as a heart murmur. I have started her on Cardinum and Renninum for organ support. Not that I doubted you, but when you see her acceptance of these remedies and not others it is really quite amazing. In addition, the other cats will drop by after, sniff the remedies and walk away.

Except that by 'sniffing' the remedies, they will have had a dose.

Bob, how fun to hear! I don't know those remedies. Can you say a
little about them and their indications? Where do you know them from?

Maybe. Humans tend to think (assume?) they are sniffing, I have not
actually seen a sniff as such. Nor have I seen Flehming (the use of
a cat's Jacobsen's organ, which is sometimes described as being
between taste and smell and detects at extremely low concentration.
Also they can detect 30C or higher potency - which is not possible to
detect chemically - it has to be energetically detected somehow. How????

So I am not sure what detection they are really using for homeopathic
*energy* - but even if if it gives them a small dose, they KNOW what
remedy to use and which to avoid without touching it.

I think that was the point:-)

Hi Irene,

How exactly do you do this?.

Put a little container with the remedy you have decided to give beside
the big water bown alnd then see whether they lap it up?

I want to try it.

I usually put the saucer of remedy somewhere other than the food and
water area, but where the specific cat likes to go.
For example if it is Frigga, she likes to be on the tool cabinet and
so I'll put her remedy saucer/s there. I've only once put down two
saucers when not sure which remedy fitted better.
I never force a remedy on a cat, as they usually know if it is
correct or if it is too soon for a dose. I work with clients on this
too; it is important information on the case, and a great way animals
can participate positively that humans seemingly can not.

I also use a saucer of remedy if I know a dose will be due before I
get home. The other cats will leave it alone (as I know from doing it
when I am home).
