Since both of these remarks go against the moderator's specific
request, both should have been done (if at all, which I doubt) by
private mail. Probably this one ought to also, but I was afraid that
might feel doubly irritating... But responses to it (hopefully none
necessary) should be directed to me privately, to let the list get back
to its "quiet time."
