Likely the are happily growing their own herbs, and otherwise demonstrating to the world, that the vicious and stupid U.S. economic blockade of Cuba has produced an incredibly viable self-sufficiency.

As much as I mourn for the intention of harm inflicted by the blockade, I rejoice in the fact that Cuba's medical system is not the #1 killer; rather, the difficulty of getting pharmaceutical medicines has created what appears to be this most amazing demonstration of use of homeopathic-styled ultra dilute potentized medicine in public health.

We should assume that Cuba has not survived & within the environment of "blockade" has even prospered in ways not measured in $USD, by being blind to what is going on in the rest of the world. Given the situation, we might even assume acute perspicacity

Great sentiment.
Somehow I don't see Cuba as being eager to end the blockade at the cost of signing on to NAFTA or various other schemes which would be oriented toward reducing their self-sustainability in favor of securing profits for world corpocracy.
OTOH, I have very little knowledge of Cuba's current internal politics, other than what can be found online.

Hi,
I had a friend who maybe 5 years ago visited her husband's relatives in Cuba for a couple of months. She had a little remedy kit. She could not get remedies without a doctor's permission and there was one store in Havana. I suspect this situation has changed. Doctors were contacting her when she save a baby who was sent home to die due to a fever. The next day the parents brought her the baby with I think vomiting ???. That was cured then there was a line of people a block long all holding an empty cup people lined up in front of her house asking for help with simple things like diarrhea. She gave out water doses and there was plenty to go around based on her fist sized remedy kit. She is a smart lady so I suspect she was quite successful. Apparently, the hospitals had no medicines so they were saving people by cutting out the gall bladder for every illness. Can't imagine this but that's what she said.
