The key thing here is to answer what he says - the word "biological'
being the key.
He is actually right that there is no *biological* reason for it to
work. A biological reason would be based on metabolism and the
chemistry involved in that metabolism, and would assume the arnica
would need to be absorbed chemically and metabolised and then be able
to act - that would be "biological".
But Arnica and any other remedy - does NOT work by biological methods.
As this man says that would not be plausible at all.
So the man needs to be educated accordingly about how homeopathy
works and how it is NOT biologically that it works- perhaps he needs
a comparison such as asking him why a piece of copper wire he is
holding is not electrocuting him. After all he IS touching a
conductor. To get eletrocuted needs energy not just a carrier wire.
The arnica is also energy and not a chemically active compound.
The scepticism that there is no chemical aspect that could possibly
be used in a homeopathic remedy - is a valid complaint, till you
explain that homeopathy does not use chemistry at all. It works
equally well in a bee, or a cat or a cow or a human or a plant -
specifically because the metabolism and structure of the life species
is NOT involved. It works independently of the "biology".
Just as electricity works independently of the conductor wire - it
can be copper, aluminum, gold etc - so arnica works independently of
the biology - it can be insect, human or lizard.
It is only those of us who ALREADY know that homeopathy has to do
with energy - who can educate those who have only ever studied
biologically for health care. SO their default thinking is
biological. We should not be surprised about that!
We need to educate otherwise not throw hands up about it:-) I know
because I was brought up that way - and had to learn that myself. If
all you know about homeopathy is that the "medicine" is too dilute to
have an active (chemical) component, there is no incentive to look
deeper to see what else might be there.
Perhaps if we did not have heavy anti-homeopathy brainwashing by big
pharma, people would take a closer look out of curiosity - but people
are sheeple, and so they will take the path of least resistance and
"hear" the big pharma propaganda, which is worded to suit the
biological paradigm.
Big pharma makes their bucks biologically - with things that react
chemically in the body. Unlike arnica which needs and uses no
chemistry. So they attack the chemistry of homeopathy.
WE - homeopaths - need to put the truth into the place currently
occupied by big pharma's propaganda involving biology - as the window
of curiosity is otherwise closed. Explaining the non-biology of
homeopathy, and the total species independence -is necessary to re-
institute natural curiosity. Till then you have a closed mind stuck
on biology and the VALID notion that homeopathy can not work with the
biology/metabolism of a human by chemical means.
(Which is really all he said in that sentence.)
