Happy mothers day,
I need some help with my dog. She is a mix of chow, shepard, and something else and is 12 yrs old. Her left rear hip has been giving her some trouble for a year or so. She was fine yesterday for her walk but this morning there has been a drastic change. She is falling upon standing and stumbling around. Basically she is lying down. She tries to get up and walk but then gives in to lying down. Her moring treat has gone uneaten. She is drinking water.
I carried her somewhat for her to go to the bathroom this morning but she did go.
I have been looking up remedies under Extremities; weakness, Extremities Awkwarndness, Extremities tottering.
Any suggestions? I would love to hear from some of the vets.

Hi Jeri,
I'm not a vet, but did used to own a Shepherd and recall reading that
the breed is prone to hip dysplasia. I wonder if that could be her
problem--should be easy for a vet to check? *If* that's the case, the
relevant rubrics would be (can't get at my rep at the moment) to do
with "joint distortion" I think, or displacement or easy dislocation,
something like that?
chronic case? A "constitutional" or chronic remedy might be relevant,
tho also might need a situation-specific one first.

Hi, it will be good if you try to analize his/her modalities amd mental features such:
lying, rest, etc. Is he/she chilly, heated; is he/she likes temperamental, nervous, anxious, wants company, refuses company, can you touch him/her? is he/she afraid to be touch? He/she wants to be caress? Does he prefers solitude when in pain ? Has he/she any other old complains or illnesses? etc,etc
In the meantime you may take a look at: Rhus-t, Colchicum, Causticum to name some...
