Today, in most places, in most industries, in all governmental
capacities, thus in many schools...
"Science" is most apparent by its absence.
Something else has painted the word science on it's forehead, and is
masquerading as such.
That something seems to be an amoral & unethical creature whose real
name is marketing;
marketing by the numbers, statistics-made-to-order .. for convincing
(selling) and for legal damage control (spin doctoring.)

The "science" which has resulted in medical doctors and pharmaceutical
drugs together comprising a leading cause of death in "developed
nations"
--- is that amoral beast.

There once was a thing called "science"
it's mind was open, not pliant
method was its madness
inquiry its gladness
when money became king
of every single thing
science went mad
cause of orders it had:
set conclusions must appear
you shall reverse engineer:
experiments must achieve
making consumers believe
exactly what is desired
else money says you are fired.

In humans, it is abundantly clear that there is no such thing as a
"true science" of nutrition.
Zillions of factions claiming various (faulty) proof of this/that/the
opposite.
The science of human nutrition would (if it were to exist in any
fashion other than marketing hype)
first need to affirm: no two humans are exactly alike
perhaps making this an affirmation is too weak ..
let's say it would need to be the mantra of said science.

No Two Individuals Are Exactly Alike
(say it again, now)
(can I get a hallelujua)

It would be FABULOUS science, if each individual's nutrition were to
be assessed on that basis.

One man's meat is another man's poison.

Where have all the flowers gone..
(when will they ever learn..)

Excuse me but is that not confusing what "powers that be" say, versus
what scientific research actually shows (and which is ofgten ignored
by those in power)?
It's not the same thing and that was one of the points I was trying
to make in my insistence of good sources of information and not just
whatever comes up on google or wherever.

I disagree.
There is a a lot of true science.
It needs to be Found in the right places and applied properly to be
of value, and though we do not know everything about nutrition yet,
we know enough to be of great assistance when well used - and the
knowledge grows daily. Fully half my animal homeopathy cases
(probably more) would be unwell still if I was not using this
knowledge, due to nutrition-related maintaining causes, for example.
Nor would I be here myself at this point.
Which is why my words up there include the term "a member of a
specific species"
for picking apart something that was said correctly?

What you also missed I think, is that my statements were very general
(this not being a diabetes list), and not intended to apply to a
specific individual.
Any of the main 40 nutrients behaves the same way in each person. It
is foods containing them that behave diffeerntly.
Nutrition is based on individual nutrients needed. How they are
supplied - can indeed be individualized.
But that does not change the science of which ones are needed and how
much does what for the body in a species.

Namaste,
Irene

Hi Joy,

Nice to see your postings here - I gather you're rather busy !
I've been overly busy with a million things for the past few years, but thought of you all here from time to time.
Now I'm embarking on a year-long plan to build a multi-disciplinary alternative health co-op / collective in the San Francisco bay area. Likely we'll include pratictioners of Ayur Veda, TCM, western herbalism, homeopathy (of course ;) as well as nutritionist specialized in raw foods / cleanse /fasting, perhaps a certain N.D. who does live blood cell analysis .. maybe an M.D. - the goal in terms of client service is to bring multidisciplinary insight to any case in which there is uncertain result with the individual's "primary healing practitioner" .. which will take the form of supporting each other as practitioners by sharing our different perspectives. Sort of like cross-training in sports ;-)
I've just had to upgrade my Radar / EH software to support Vista ... almost my whole library is in there !
I got so used to reading and using computerized search functions that I've forgotten how to turn pages in a book ;-p

OH .. I should mention.. there's a pretty cool new "social networking" website for homeopathic practitioners .. I ran into Amy Lansky there, and have also made a new acquaintance who is interested in the healing arts co-op.
Here's the URL
http://homeopathyworldcommunity.ning.com
my "profile" there

Sounds really great David, good luck with it all. I've just joined the homeopathy world community, a few familiar faces there - could be the place to be :-)

Best wishes, Joy
