Stimulus Bill Fascist?

* Now I'm confused. Why does Health Freedom USA associate with the Hudson Institute, funded by General Mills, and Bristol-Myers Squibb, ConAgra, Archer Daniels Midland, Philip Morris, IMC Fertilizer, British Petroleum, Pfizer, Exxon, Procter and Gamble etc?
* Dr. Mercola expressed gladness recently when he learned that Tom Daschle was asked by Obama to be Secretary of Health, because he said Daschle is a proponent of alternative healthcare. Then I was upset to learn later that Daschle withdrew, supposedly because of income tax non-payment, which I figure was probably a frame-up. Now the Health Freedom org claims that Daschle's book of last year proposes fascist control over doctors and the treatments patients receive, and that the Stimulus Bill includes a regulation to that effect.
* Or at least Betsy McCaughey, former lieutenant governor of New York, says that. But then I noticed that she is said to be an adjunct senior fellow at the Hudson Institute. And I see on this webpage

that the "operations and policy of the Hudson Institute are funded by foundations including those listed above. Those companies aren't concerned about health freedom, so why should we imagine that Betsy McCaughey is? Also, General Stubblebine is a founder and president of Natural Solutions Foundation, which is the owner of HealthfreedomUSA.org website, it seems, and the General appears to be an advocate of war with Iran, according to http://www.larouchepub.com/eiw/public/2 ... 39/2005-35 /pdf/62-65_34_int.pdf.
* My view is that it's largely only fascists who want war with Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan etc. So why are fascists calling the health proposals in the Stimulus Bill fascist?
* Here's what McCaughey apparently says about the Stimulus Bill's health provisions.
(Page numbers refer to H.R. 1 EH, pdf version).
""The bill’s health rules will affect “every individual in the United States” (445, 454, 479). Your medical treatments will be tracked electronically by a federal system.... But the bill goes further. One new bureaucracy, the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, will monitor treatments to make sure your doctor is doing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective. The goal is to reduce costs and “guide” your doctor’s decisions (442, 446). These provisions in the stimulus bill are virtually identical to what Daschle prescribed in his 2008 book, “Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis.” According to Daschle, doctors have to give up autonomy and “learn to operate less like solo practitioners...”"
* That makes the Bill not sound good to me, but I don't know if the Bill actually says what she claims it says.
* So I'm wondering if the petition is a gimmick to get people's email addresses and to scare people into useless or self-defeating actions.
* So I did not sign the petition. Sorry if I reacted too quickly yesterday in forwarding their info. Over-vigilance maybe.
* Dr. Mercola has a lot of references to the health freedom USA org, so it seems he finds their material generally good. But why do they associate with Hudson Institute people?
