I didn't find any reference in the MM's but this came up on a google search:

http://forums.obgyn.net/ob-gyn-l/OBGYNL.0508/0346.html
The PDR reports uterine stimulant effects of blue "similar to oxytocin" in infusions in concentrations of 500:1 or 1000:1.
Thanks,

Yes, Caulophyllum works similarly to oxytocin...but that is the key, it is similar! I have found it VERY useful...much more so than oxytocin...to help a female thru the birthing process. To me, part of that process is being able to lactate...which Caulophyllum helps with. I have VERY seldom used any other remedy...altho have used urtica urens (high potency) & calc phos (low potency or tissue salt)...

Hi Marilyn,

Similar is homeopathic!
The goat did have a slow labor and was given Puls, I don't know the details of potency and frequency as it was someone else's case. It seems the goat has CAE and the
not letting down is a symptom. The good news is the twins are being bottle fed and
are doing well.

Thank you for your comments and helpfulness.

Hi Leilanae...
You said...
I think you've misunderstood...let me try to explain better...
I'm not talking about the law of similars, I am speaking of a comparison of how oxytocin works, and how Caulophyllum works. When I was just learning about homeopathy, I used oxytocin, but found that, in many cases, it did not work. It would not progress labor. Caulophyllum was given and it would progress. Oxytocin was also supposed to bring down milk, but did not. Again, Caulophyllum did. Of course, these are my own cases and not literature, so you can believe what you will!:)
If the virus causing CAE is *confirmed* thru testing, then the kids should not be allowed to nurse...but I am glad they are doing well!
