since homeopathy treats the whole person and the emotional/mental symptoms
are thought to be of great importance by some, i thought the discussion was
right on target and that there needs to be more of it, not less.
furthermore, not knowing our own biases is dangerous in the world and in
homeopathy. i had just finished writing to a friend that hopefully people on
the list had learned some valuable things from the discussion. i laughed to
then come across a similar message on the list saying the same thing, but
this person, being on the opposits side of the argument, obviously was
hoping that the list had learned other things. someone in homeopathy had
just recently told me i needed to get rid of my feminist filter. i asked a
very good friend if i had a feminist filter and she said, yes, thank god.
those who do not have a feminist filter, need to get rid of their dominant
culture filter. one of the definitions of feminism that i like is that it
is the radical notion that women are people too. men have been trying to
silence women for a long time. a good example is when they blamed eve for
the garden of eden and blamed the snake and made the snake, a symbol of big
reverence in ancient goddess worship, into a very bad symbol. look at what
homeopathy says about snakes. i will never be silenced. sheila

All seriousness aside, there isn't much to be gained by airing extreme bias.

Much could be gained by contemplating on the fact that God/dess is neither
masculine nor feminine, nor is It's creation Soul.

Only the bodies, and these are picked up and put down lifetime after
lifetime, quite often alternating sex in accordance with laws of Karma and
Attention- which dictate that today's vociferous feminist who was maltreated
in various ways until coming to her current understanding, was likely the
masculine oppressor of another time.

Hello
Interesting posts this last week or more....Brings me to say that
Homeopathy rx' aside, these conversations have led us into the arena
of the practitioners attitude.
As a homosexual pratitioner of 20 years with an early history of
rape, seduction and molestation for many years with manifestations of
venereal diseases and other chronic problems, I sit in my office and
face women who have had sex with their sons, men with their sons or
daughters, brothers and sisters, brothers and brothers etc. I do not
say etc lightly.
Unprejudiced means I have to deeply know the difference between
empathy and sympathy or I can quickly develop into internal anger and
disgust towards the perpertrator and the victim as well as towards
myself. As a practitioner I step aside and allow the basics of
healing begin for all who have sought this. This is after all, not a
race or game of who is on top just a mere avenue to help heal the
afflicted.
I, in order to exist in my society, cannot blame all the 'men' no
more than I can blame all the women for not saving me at those
violent times. If I join a side and rally and placard the scenery to
death, I give my power to the perpetrators by empowering my role as a
poor hapless victim. In sustaining myself I don't imagine it should
be otherwise and embrace the miracle of becoming a mentor when I had
none for all of my experiences have lead me to the wonder of
homeopathy.

Now you've really tossed a hot potato!

Actually I believe there is a lot to what you say. I had a bizarre dream
during the time I was processing my sexual abuse most intensively: I was a
soldier raping someone. I even felt the sensations in the dream of having a
penis! Needless to say, that dream shifted my thinking quite a bit.

Divya Chhabra has said it might be useful to study past life regression, to
find the roots of disease that are buried in the unconscious. I am quite
drawn to this and might actually study it. My own regression has given me
some profound insights into my state.

Altho I never had a past life experience myself, i have had past life readings which gave me a perspective on some of the issues in my current life.

I also treated a woman a couple of years ago who could recall several previous lives. Her grief and angst were so great and seemed to connect to nothing in her present life that i decided to take the case of her past life stories. I just included the information into the case in a normative way. We had great success. Very interesting and another aspect of staying open and unprejudiced

Dear Charlotte,

I would encourage you to learn to do past life regressions since you feel
drawn to it. Sometimes just knowing where a fear or other feeling comes
from--realizing that there is a reason, --really helps to reduce the fear or
deal with whatever the issue is. Just recently I guided a woman through a
regression in which she remembered another incarnation in which she got lost
in the forest as a six year old girl and died. Her first comment after the
regression was "so that's why I always refuse to go camping with my family!"
I wasn't using regression as a part of homeopathy, but I can seen that it
could be used as a part of case taking in certain cases if both the patient
and the homeopath were comfortable with the idea. By the way, believing in
past lives isn't necessary for regression to work. I could refer you to some
interesting books if you're interested.
