Excellent work by Farokh J. Master, entitled
“Perceiving Rubrics of the Mind” -should be very useful to any homeopath who
hasn’t got 20 or 30yrs of experience in casetaking and study of Mind
repertory.. it is done in the scholarly manner which is traditional, and
most useful in homeopathy, where it is of paramount importance to maintain
links within our literature, properly sourcing authorities.
Dear Dave,
Thanks for the useful information!

Hi Everyone,
I am struggling with a woman who is extremely sensitive. I know we are onto
the correct remedy; that is not the issue. The problem is that she is so
sensitive it is really difficult to give her doses without proving symptoms
coming up. I switched to LM for this reason (I had been using liquid
potencies of 30c, 200c, and 1M), but the situation is not much improved.
She has been taking doses from the remedy prepared in an 8-oz. bottle with
4-oz. of alcohol. I then have had her place a teaspoonful of the solution
from the bottle into a cup with 4 ounces of water, and stir 30 seconds.
We've had to progressively increase the number of dilution cups until
aggravation was avoided, which seems to be 9 (1) cups now. (She takes a
spoonful from the first cup, stirs it into the second cup, takes a spponful
from the second cup, stirs it into the third cup, etc.) Also we've cut back
on the number of succussions (of the remedy bottle) between doses to just 2
(most people seem to do well with six).
We have endlesssly tried to sort out the frequency of the repetition based
on relapse of her chief complaint and/or her deeper state symptoms, such as
frightening dreams and irritability.
It has truly been a process of trial and error--mostly error! However, her
overall state and chief complaints are gradually improving despite all the
struggle and ups and downs, which encourages us both to continue.
A couple of months ago she was developing severe stinging pain in her jaw
that wasn't responding to doses of the remedy. It was getting terribly
confusing. I thought maybe she might be proving the remedy, as stinging
headaches were her initial presenting complaint (her remedy is Apis). I
decided to have her stop the remedy for a month, just to ascertain whether
she was proving the remedy. It was revealing that most of her pain went
away--headaches, plus the new jaw pain. Then the deeper state symptoms
recurred, frightening dreams and dizziness, after a couple of weeks,
followed by a return of headaches, so I decided she needed a dose. She had
no aggravation with this dose, and her symptoms improved for a couple of
days. Then she had another frightening dream, and her headache came back,
so she took another dose, which produced another aggravation.
I decided that since she didn't have an aggravation after the dose she took
after the long interval, and that her symptoms had started to relapse after
about two weeks into the break, that it would be safest to simply repeat at
two-week intervals for awhile and see what happens.
Any suggestions?
