Essential thrombocythaemia (ET) is a chronic myeloproliferative disease affecting the cells in the bone marrow that produce platelets. ET is a rare condition that can affect people at any age, including children, although it is very rare in people under 50. The cause is unknown.
A new patient has come in with it. She has Reynaud's as well which she has had for years and she has icy extremities and a warm body!!
Thanks

I believe Crotalus Horr has been useful twice for me.

Sorry to say it is less and less 'rare'. It killed my father - and
in his case was caused by the over the counter drug 'ALEVE' (Naproxen
sodium). It is a well known side effect (reported many times to FDA)
but they have failed to take any action. It seems that the
individuals always die of 'complications' and that the name of the
complication appears on the death certificate - so their view is that
it is the drug is not dangerous and no additional warnings need be
issued. We found the Drs that work with this are very familiar with
this 'cause'. The ones we met at big 'centers' would not even fill in
the necessary reports since they would forfeit drug company
sponsorship of their current and future 'research'.

I am very sorry to hear about your father. I think with this woman it is caused by the Jack 2 gene.
She has actually come to see me for panic attacks rather than the E.T. but I was just interested because the consultants want to put her on a potent drug for it.

Donna --

Thanks for the "heads up" about Aleve! Rosemary

I had a client with ITP after vaccination--so even though the cause is unknown, I believe what Sheri Nakken told me at the time: can be caused by vaccination.
The case picture indicated Crotalus Horridus though the client refused treatment and had her spleen removed instead.
All the best with this,
Lisa

I treated a little boy with this once. I gave him carcinosin and later crotalus. He did all right and got better over a period of months but may have grown out of it anyway, I suppose. He wasn't given steroid treatment but at the time other children with the same diagnosis were being put on that.
