knee pain

A patient is 81.
Knees are painful one by one, sometimes two at the same time.
Pain is in the back of the knees. It is OK to step on the stairway
step, but it is painful to lift the leg.
When he wakes up during the night, he has to hold on to something to
make several first steps. Because there is pain when lifting legs and
also it is hard to keep the balance.
He has a gout in the anamnesis, but it was always in small joints of
feet and hands.
Last year I gave him Calcarea Fluorica 6C and it helped for a while,
stiffness in the legs became less, and it was easier to move. But now
it did not work and clinical picture is different.
