Friends,

Earlier this week there was a debate in London between Dr. Peter Fisher and Simon Singh. Did anyone attend this lecture and have any comment? I am curious to learn.

Hello Dana,

The debate, on monday 20th Oct., organised by UCL debating society, was poorly
managed, and biased, attended mostly by students, who appear to have gone there to
practice their debating skills.
The motion was lost by 12 (65 for and 53 against), with 37 abstentions. Peter Fisher put
on a good show, and so did his second, in comparison with the rather stale and poor
presentation of Simon and Qulquoun (sorry, can never spell this). My husband Ken did a
rather good caricature of him, unfortunately can't share it here. Pity there were not more
homeopaths/supporters there. Kind regards, Grace (www.healingwithgrace.co.uk).

PS. The day after, tuesday 21st, there was also a debate on UK BBC radio 5 live, at 24.00
(local time); did anyone listen? Unfortunately, I had such a busy day that I fell asleep, but
we cans still listen on the internet within the next week.

Hi Dana,
Would have loved to – but alas, we really only found out about it on the day – which is no good for anyone not based in London. I have no idea why this was not more widely publicised. What a shame. (I would have loved another chance to chat with Simon).
All the best
