Ah, thanks.
Well, remedies work by (using our familiar terms, and I realize this is
metaphorical) stimulating the vital force, "showing" it what needs
fixing. As opposed to drugs, which force reactions thru chemical blah
blah. Don't you feel that's a significant difference, and also
consistent with Hahnemann?
I like what she wrote about looking to "what is best in the person, ...
their core of genius"--as part of identifying the needed remedy. And
to me, this is a big part of what was so interesting in that article.
As I said, it would have been easy to dismiss her "courage" etc. as
simply healthy (and I don't dispute that it is that!), and miss the
fact that it is also *exaggerated* (the speaker mentions how this could
*possibly* lead one to do things that might be safer to leave undone; I
am not going to call that pathology, but it is under the definition of
SRP (strange, rare, and peculiar) or PQRS (I forget what that stands
for? same meaning), which figures so *highly* in Hahnemann's
instructions about what to prescribe on.
Same can be said about the "friendliness" of phosphorus and numberous
other characteristics, which some homeopaths will not prescribe on,
preferring to make sure they are using "pathology only." It was not
and is not my intention (or interest) to argue that point, but only to
share this example of a slightly different viewpoint.
Thanks for the "tour"!
