I used to read mercola all the time. Then a few years ago ..he started selling
stuff...and that was it for me.

Has anyone heard of vitamin c and lysine cleaning out one's arteries. think
its lysine...or something like that..as opposed to taking statins? If i am
allowed to mention something non-homeopathic.

this article talks about linus pauling institute work on this issue.
both supplements were used. lysine to remove plaque and vit c
to relax the arterial walls. the article is from 1997 so may not be
as up-to-date as you would like.
as for mercola, i think there is still some good information there.
i ignore the selling. but am fascinated by the blog comments on
some articles.
today there is an article on homeopathy and people might want to
give it a quick read and make comment. there is the usual range
of responses from pure quackery to pure magic. the article focuses
on the idea that you will feel worse before feeling better. i am not
enamored with mercola's knowledge of homeopathy--virtually nil!!
and so i take a moment to send commentary when i can. the
article seems to have disappeared suddenly and another page
opens up when the link is clicked. hmmmm?

There are numerous things that can (I read) clear plaque from the
arteries, including (I think) cayenne, lecithin, some vitamins (certain
of the Bs, I think), nattokinase, magnesium--I think it depends on part
on what the plaque is mainly composed of, but I'd think you could make
a pretty good guess by simjply looking at the overall picture (from a
nutritional standpoint I mean) and see what deficiencies are suggested.

Well, high salts and other issues make tears in the arteries and plaque forms to repair.............simplified version.
So it isn't about the plaque but what led up to it.

Rice bran is roto-rooter for the arteries :-)

You ned the rest of the diet anti-inflammatory too of course....

while this is always a good question, and one would think easily answered with
a phone call (one would think), much of what he puts on the site has nothing to do
with selling product. i do find that his material is simply written, but his site is for
lay people. what he does say is that he makes no money from these products,
monies made are used to support the site which is expensive to maintain. i am
sure that part is true.
