The only concern I would have with soy is the genistein which might produce too much estrogen type of hormone in some people. Two of my babies were fed soy formula due to lactose intolerance and I at that time was also vegetarian and consumed lots of soy and I have nice big healthy boys with not too much estrogen or growth problems.
I have changed my view point on some of its uses, I don’t recommend it first but I don’t believe it is harmful when used as a formula or in moderation. I have had great success with PMS and Menopausal complaints when using soy based products. It all comes down to everything in moderation. The population hears something is good for you and that is all they consume.
I personally would try a goat milk over soy now but that is after years of schooling and learning I did not have when my babies were little. The benefits in my mind for soy isolates far outweigh the bad. Heart dis-ease, some forms of cancer, menopause etc. can all be helped with addition of soy. I have a soy shake every morning and honestly my PMS is much better than when I don’t consume any. As far as allergens go in my experience that has not been the case with any one of my clients.
Back to the lady with concerns I would not look to proving soy bean but more towards the estrogen effects of the over consumption of soy. Our food sources pose a much greater risk to our health than too much soy in food. Try antibiotics, irradiation, genetically altered etc. the list is long and very concerning.

Hi Kathleen,
Some of the concern about soy is based on factors such as the hugely increased *amounts* that some people now are using--soy milk, soy burgers, tofu in so very many forms, soy oil, and "soy protein isolate" in so many products--which is entirely different from anything that's been done historically (far different from the frequently mentioned "soy eating cultures"). Another big concern is that most of the soy crop now is genetically modified, and there are so many unknowns there.
I'm curious what amounts and types of soy your clients tend to use, and whether you feel any concern over the *large* amounts that are now popular in some circles?
(It's also a very common allergen, but I'm sure you are alert to that possibility.)
Best wishes,
Shannon
I have been using Soy products for my clients and myself for many years and still believe the benefits far outweigh the bad aspects. Everyday someone is doing a new study to try and discredit all natural products. Do not believe everything you read. The real research is not as stated on Mercola. Kathy

Has there been a proving of Soybean? I haven't heard of it being
done and it would be very important with all it's negative affects - -
especially for vegetarians, being a dominant infant formula (which
unfortunately my oldest had) and in a bazillion products now.
There are stirrings of better awareness of it not only not being
healthy as advertised, but harmful and hard to even avoid. Mercola had
a lot to say, see link:
