Dr. Luc lives in New Mexico with his wife and has been teaching for many years and he decided that he owed it to others who were suffering to practice again. He opened an office in expensive Los Angeles (in California where he has a medical license) and commutes from New Mexico to Los Angeles (not daily of course, but still has given up his life with his beloved wife, when he has no financial need to do this).

He gives far more than most people - gives of his time on blogs and lists (although has had to cut back recently due to travels to continue to teach around the world as well as maintain this practice.)

He is always available to us who study or have studied with him for questions and gives readily to us for free.

So you need to know the whole picture before you judge someone.

I know many who do NOT have extra expendable money find a way to see him and find cure or be on their way to cure.

And there are many others around the US who have studied with him who charge less.

Those of us who are practicing homeopaths know we spend far more time on a case than that 90-120 minutes for the session and he also includes:

* The first visit includes a personal consultation with Dr Luc.
* The initial remedy.
* A first week follow up communication report at day 3 after you take your remedy.
* A 10 day follow up communication report. If you are unable to stabilize after 10-14 days on your remedy­you will be instructed to stop the remedy and wait until the next follow-up appointment.

So spend $300 seeing someone who doesn't follow the 5th and 6th edition of the organon and gives you a dry pill and tells you to come back in a month ($100-$150 follow up) . No monitoring during that month.

I would choose $700 visit for a quality homeopath who knows his stuff and uses water potencies and helps the cure to be gentler and faster, saving money and time in the long run.

They are many higher than him and in my opinion he is one of the very best and you end up spending less in the long run because he is more likely to get it right at the beginning and uses water potencies for gentler faster cure.

This charge also includes much monitoring at the beginning of a new remedy
So all is not as it appears.

The point of this argument is *not* whether or not homeopaths charge too much. The U.S. has a free-market economy, and homeopaths--like any other businessperson--have the right to charge whatever the market will bear. The point is that--contrary to Bill G.'s assertion--not everyone can afford to see a homeopath at the going rates. This whole discussion started because someone asked if there was a homeopath in a certain area who was willing to take on a patient pro-bono or at a very reduced rate, and Bill G. suggested that it was wrong to ask that, because *anyone* can afford homeopathic treatment. Which is absolutely *not* true.
Since I don't know these people, I have no way of knowing whether or not they are as poor as the people I know. I'm often surprised at what point wealthier people consider themselves to be "poor." (Indeed, I'm surprised at what we, in the U.S., consider to be *really poor* when I think of what poverty looks like in the Third World.)
I have an online friend whose husband has been unemployed for some time and whose family is in danger of bankruptcy, and I thought that she was in roughly the same class of non-wealthiness that I am (and I am not *remotely* as poor as I was years ago when my oldest son was little)...but I only thought that until I saw that their house, which they have just put up for sale, is worth $250,000. That's a whole different league of "poverty" from any that I've experienced.
What I'm trying to say is that I find it arrogant and rude to assume that any given "poor" person could afford to go to a homeopath "if they *really* wanted to." Probably my "poor" online friend could. Other people I know could not.

Sheri, you keep saying this, and I keep replying that it is not
necessarily true.

Even a (gag) 4th ed. prescriber (such as I admit to still mostly being)
will--if they are doing their job--adjust frequency of monitoring to
the needs of the case. By 4th ed. method *most* cases do not *need*
monitoring sooner (the meanings of early changes won't become clear
until later)--tho every patient is, I would certainly hope, told that
should anything unexpected arise, they can *and should* phone in
sooner. At least this is the way every homeopath *I* have worked with
over the years has done it.

YOU KNOW THIS, so why do you keep pretending it's not so? Building up
the thing you believe in (6th ed. method) does not necessitate tearing
down others' work.

Dear all,
I am not a student of Dr Luc's and have also found him to be very generous with his time and not driven by financial reward. When Dr Luc was teaching here in Australia last year he made the time during his busy schedule to see me and take my case, because I wrote to ask him if he would. It was a an unforgettable experience with a truely remarkable man. He refused payment and continued for over a year to find the time to supervised my case, also without charge and not because I was unable to pay.

the tactic that i used was to let myself be a classroom case for a greatly
discounted rate. every homeopath that teaches here always asks for people
to volunteer to have their case taken. in my case i never went back the class
but have been seen at the discounted rate since then.
