Minutus

I’ve seen great variation – and I wonder how much is due to the quality of the MT? In the US we have a variety of producers of ‘herbal’ tinctures – and some are excellent. Let’s just say the others have proven to be less than consistent over the years.

I studied herbology and herbal medicine under quite a few wonderful teachers. I never heard of this form of tincture so I looked it up:
"The spagyric tinctures we offer are made in strict accordance with ancient alchemical principles by practicing alchemist Paul Bartscher, who has made his remedies available to the public since 1991. These Salt level extracts contain the spagyric essence, which is made by purifying the plant body until it becomes a clear or white crystalline salt, and then adding the salt to the alcohol tincture to capture the physical signatures of the plant."
It is certainly not the way I was taught to make tinctures. I would think this process would have a very different chemical signature from the traditional tinctures.

my understanding is the spagyric tinctures are made and poured off the solids.
the solids are then 'burned' to an ash and then added back to the liquid. it is
supposed to enhance the medicianl power of the tincture. if i recall correctly,
the process is an old alchemical one.

But that process is a 'process' and will fundamentally change the chemistry. Since we base our knowledge of the tinctures (and remedies made from tinctures) on a simpler extraction method, wouldn't this new process introduce change into the character of the material - and therefore the therapeutic action? I'm not debating what the difference would be - only that the fact that you are introducing a new processing format could fundamentally change the basic chemistry (perhaps enhance, perhaps reduce, perhaps alter in ways we do not predict).

i don't know enough about this to take a strong position. i can only
relate what info i was provided. the makers of these tinctures claim
they are the same but more intense or potent in their effects. without
some first hand comparison, or other definitive information i am left
with the above statement.
