Hello,

I am taking both the nutrion & herbology courses, having set the
general diploma down for a bit. Although, i have a variety of books,
I am having difficulty finding source information for tissue salts and
other homeopathic questions in order write decent essays.

Would someone please point me in the correct direction. This is a show
stopper for both courses and I am studying by distance.

I have found the odd extremely well written article yet specifics seem
to be obscure.

Hi mpetra,
The best way to get in-depth properties of the tissue salts, would be
to read their homeopathic materia medica! The homeopathic pictures are
very much more detailed and in-depth, compared with the tissue salt
pictures. However, less detail is evidently *needed* for the tissue
salt approach, where their role seems to be nutritive, rather than
curative.

A book that I've found interesting is "Natural Healing with Cell Salts"
by Skye Weintraub. It gives only the usual rather brief picture for
each of the 12 remedies, but also a pretty extensive section on how to
use the salts, singly or in combination, for a huge number of specific
situations.

Yes, "combinations"... If using these remedies as "cell salts", you're
not using classical homeopathy; neither the method nor the goals are
the same, but many people have found it to be a useful tool, and for
some has been the starting point in learning homeopathy.

(You might also look at some of the homeopathic booksellers' websites
for other books on the subject.)

You will find many books on the tissue salts (I have 14 in my library), but few will give anything ‘in depth’. Most of the really useful publications are little more than pamphlets. The joy of the tissue salts is their simple easy use in ‘first aid’ situations. I pack them in every kit for travelers. Most of the books are little more than ‘bedside prescribers’. Within the reference book category there are several nice books including:
The Twelve Tissue Remedies of Schussler by Boericke and Dewey

The Biochemic System of Medicine by George W. Carey

Unique Combinations with Clinical Cases in Homeopathy and Biochemic Vol. I and Vol. II by R L Gupta

But none of these present the
The book I recommend to my clients is:
Natural Healing with Cell Salts by Skye Weintraub
It is well presented, easy to use, and is the more ‘modern’ of the group. It covers the basics well, but there is nothing ‘in depth’. The details of each tissue salt would be found in the traditional homeopathic MMs, but the clinical experience is found in these specialty books.

I'll chime in that this is an excellent little book. I'm not a practioner, just a mom with a long-standing interest in homeopathy and not a lot of time to study extensively. At those times when I'm feeling overwhelmed even by Boericke, I can go to Weintraub's book to find something that will at least be helpful, even if it isn't strictly the simillimum.
