-Greetings:
Greetings:
Anneke Hogeland... suggested since I have experience that I might want
to write on my experience with Ativan tapering...
I have been working successfully with a patient. The protocol I use
is two fold...
a) reduction of daily total ativan dose by 0.25 mg every two weeks.
This is a a slow but steady titration down off the drug....
b) use of c-1 trituration of Ativan by the patient. The patient and I
triturated a C-1 remedy out of her Ativan pill.for one hour following
the standard protocol for trituration provings.for one c- level.....
then , upon completetion this was succussed/ diluted out to 6C
strength. For some other patients this might be up to 12C or 30C..
The patient found the trituration process
very therapeutic...
then I have the patient take one dose of the homeopathic Ativan...as
a liquid measure remedy once a day....to help with the titration off
the Ativan...during the first 5 days after allopathic dose reduction.
I have allowed an occasional dose of the homeopathic Ativan C-6 for
helping with brief bouts of anxiety...(rather than allowing an
increases in the allopathic doses). then daily or every other day for
the next 5 days, and every other day to every three days during the
final 4 days of each step reduction....
c) the patient is also on a constitutional remedy that she takes once
a week.....to support her as she weans off 7 years of Ativan dependance.
d) when the patient began this titration taper.. she was taking twice
as much as she had been originally prescribed, having developed drug
tolerance and dependance...
e) the patient must be seen once a month during this process.
