I sent a terse message back because I don't think it's about the e-mail provider - and didn't hear back from them, but since then I get all messages (well I think I do) from the Yahoo sites unless you're the author - are you the only person on Yahoo sites that uses your email provider? But anyway this is the next step that they gave me to try, so if you are able to do anything about it I would appreciate it.

PS thanks for all the skewing info - it certainly stretches the brain to try and understand it in a way that makes it a valuable tool.

Oh that explains a lot.
There are internet protocols that Hotmail breaks.
Then they have the cheek to ask email senders to ALSO break protocol
so as to meet Hotmail's bad attitude.
No dice.

I used to be caught up with such a provider (aol aka aohell) and
learned my lesson:-)
I prefer to pay for a service that actually works and uses the
protocol rules. It's worth the $15 per month for me.

Neither myself nor my email provider of Icehouse is willing to break
internet protocols to meet a non-standard shortcut that Hotmail uses
that is against the accepted standard. They must be dreaming.
For what it's worth - aol tried the same story.
Hotmail (and aol) is not going to spend the money to implement good
internet protocols and they are cutting out my email not because of
Icehouse but because of where I have my website - angelfire - along
with millions or billions of other folk, some of whom are using their
site to generate spam - as is the case in any place where a lot of
people go.
Internet protocol requires that they determine WHAT angelfire sites
send spam and which do not. Aol in fact had the cheek to tell me to
move my website!
Hotmail is doing the same thing in a roundabout way - no dice my
website is fine, my ISp is very good ablout following prop;er
protocols, and I SHALL leave my web address in my signature lines.
It is Hotmail (and aol) who are full of it. THEY need to discriminate
between different angelfire sites as is required by good internet
protocols and are taking shortcuts. My email is blocked because the
word "angelfire" occurs somewhere in it!!!!

So basically you get to vote with your dollars - and support an ISP
other than hotmail or aol - one who follows internet protocols
It's not gong to work to ask people like me to change MY good system
to fit their bad one, however much they couch their excuses in techno-
speak to try to hide their failure to follow standard internet
protocols!

Sorry about that!
It's a known issue with Hotmail. (and aol and a few others too busy
making money to implement protocols)
People who use those "services" do not usually know what they are
missing as it never arrives:-)
