Minutus

A guy at the gym has a shredded Achilles tendon and is in plaster as they have stitched it together by bring it as close together as they can. Now my usual suggestion for an Achilles tendon is Ruta Grav 6 but I am wondering if calendula to heal maybe a better option or dare I say it both remedies. What do others think?

Hi Rochelle,
What I've done (and been pleased with the results) in a first-aid
situation is to gather together all of the remedies that seem to
apply--both to the overall condition, including mentals and generals if
there are any, and also if necessary to the "parts" (pains from sprain;
pain and bleeding from gash; pain from smashed shin--etc.), and simply
*try* them, based on what's uppermost. Covering mentals and generals
(if any) first, along with whatever seems to go with them; what has
often happened is that, if the first-chosen remedy is useful but isn't
sufficient to do everything that's needed, there will be a change in
the sensation (or maybe more accurately, as the attention is freed from
one part of the trauma, the next-most-pressing one comes to the fore)
and I follow with whatever remedy seems to suit that one.

If there's no relief of pain (or etc.) within five minutes, I figure
that remedy is wrong, and move on to the next attempt. So with a
severe injury (which we've unfortunately had a few of over the past few
years) I may wind up rotating through 3 or 4 remedies, with each one
"attached" to a specific sensation or type of pain--it's been
educational! So--why not try both ruta and calendula--but separately,
and see what if anything each one seems to do?

Thanks Joe- but I haven't clue where to get hold of Gemmotherapic Rx and my thoughts are , at my age can I really cope with learning another system I've no doubt that this Rx would be best but I would rather use what I have in my stock cupboard- no offence and all that

What you say would be perfect sense if it was a patient but this is just a guy I work out with who I saw on crutches and I could point in the direction of the local homeopathic counter!!!

To the surprise of the Doctor I was walking a little with limping and I could do all the exercises without difficulty or pain, due to RUTA taken earlier. However the ruptured ligament required some remedy for rebuilding. I went into books. The tissue remedies gave the help. KALI PHOS, FERRUM PHOS, MAG PHOS, SILICEA together daily four doses, 4 pills a dose made me walk freely and the separation at my knee vanished. Now I am able to use my leg as usual, Homoeopathy can cure even in a field Allopathy does not have anything to do.

Just done a search out of interest and have found only one company that seems to have gemmotherapy Rx but at £12.95 for 50ml!!! http://www.gemmotherapy.com/store.html

HI Rochelle re the Achilles don’t forget Symphytum also – Boericke lists it as good for injuries to sinews tendons and periosteum – I used it plus Ruta for my partner who ruptured his Achilles in 1994 – I have also used it for my son who after a car accident had fractures and avulsions of ligaments and tendons in his ankle and fibula – Drs were amazed at the tendon and ligament repair – of course the very important thing is physiotherapy after the repair – have observed the difference between 3 different people with Achilles ruptures – (2 were not my patients) and my partner had the best recovery – the others wouldn’t work through the pain and stiffness and have permanent loss of ROM in the ankle whereas my partner who really pushed his (he said the best was walking up hill – he has a farm on the side of a mountain!!) has almost complete return of usefulness.

Brilliant - thanks for this. I will have to check if these tissue salts can be found in one of the recognised combos that they sell here. However I think that shredded is different from ruptured and that is why I was thinking of Calendula as well!!

Thanks Pauline. Did you use them together at separate times each day? The problem is that this guy is not a patient and whereas he can go to a shop and buy Ruta I know that Symphytum is not sold in the shops and he would have to get it from me , if he was really interested.
