FYI: camels with foamy cough in Northern Kenya
Posted: Wed Feb 27, 2008 6:52 pm
Greetings all.
Below is an email I got today. I thought it would be a refreshing(!) change of pace to share it with you.
This couple is in Marsabit located in northern Kenya which is arid, semi-desert climate. I've already treated (long distance) one of the camels for another problem, so now they're writing me for more advice. This (american) couple works with the locals in a community development project.
I will be advising them on how to prepare a nosode as they requested, that's not a problem for me.
But beyond that, since I'm not a homeo-vet, maybe one of you there can add some more rx advice?
And the other side-issue they mentioned re: effects of mobile phones on their teeth?? any advice for that? I was thinking I could zip up some "mobile phone nosode" by putting my own phone onto a remedy-making machine???? any comments?

Hi Didi
It has been a long time and we have been way up north for months far from phones and computers. Right now we have popped into Marsabit to collect some supplies before heading back out again for a bit.
I would like to ask your advice and have you jog my memory a bit about making NOSODES. I examined a herd of camels which have a history of "kufaa"- coughing literally- usually this particular problem is not very serious and does not cause much debility. It also usually clears up very quickly with amoxycillin long acting. This herd has been getting the antibiotics and it has been clearing up BUT slowly and they are unwell afterwards for a long time. The herd has about 75 camels and more than 40 have gotten this coughing problem and have been treated. They have recently come from a notorioulsy unhealthy place where they were under extreme water stress. Since then they have been watered. I hve also tested many of them for tryps and they are positive. Tryps pops in when immune sytems are down. While some are still just contracting "the cough" a whole group of others- particularly yonger ones now have "furri"- a foamy profuse nasal discharge. Only one or two seem really sick with this but more than 20 seem to have this foamy nasal discharge. Seems to me a nosode should be made of the stuff and put in drinking water as you had suggested before. Don't you think??
Here is the question. how much alcohol again do we use to mix with the foamy mucus? And what concentration should the alcolhol be? Should it then sit for a while? How long? The succussing part of 1 in 99 we can read about and do I think. But to make the mother tincture of this nosode.... we can't find anything in books and we can quite remember what you said.
Wireless has not yet been connected here and my teeth cause me, BJ great pain when I use a cell phone! David has lost his voice for the last few days and cannot speak at all so would appreciate it if you have the time to write back. Otherwise we will have our 16 year old daugther phone you. She is the one who does much of thinking and reading about homeopathics recently!
Happy New Year to you
BJ from Marsabit
