The future of medicine

Post by artcalight13 »

I'd like to let the group know of the video on TED.com of a speech by
a very young scientist, Eva Vertes, At the end of her speech, Eva
presents what she describes as a "far Out" idea - cancer cells curing
cancer. I propose that what she's describing is "homeopathy" but she
does not realize that the modality is not a new invention of hers, but
long in existence.

Here's the link to her speech.

well, i didn't hear the homeopathic connection in her talk
but she did present the perspective of looking at how the
body seeks to repair itself and that cancer cells are that
process gone out of control. she looked at cancer cells as
stem cells seeking differentiation but failing to do in most
parts of the body. muscle tissue was the exception. her
question was how to use these stem cells of the body, in the
body to regenerate damage parts such as nerves in alzheimers
or lung tumors, etc. i see her thinking supporting the idea
that life is a force unto itself and always seeks survival.
and that cancer is actually the attempt of the vital force
to contain its dis-ease (the damage that she spoke of). that
is the homeopathic part of her talk-but not exactly.
she is a very bright and enthusiastic young woman and it would
be great to try to influence her thinking. we need questioning
minds like hers who would/could become of the research voices
in homeopathy.
