Spinal concussion in dog (was: chemo nerve internal burns]

Mary,
Have you considered Bellis-perennis? It's a remedy Dr. Ramakrishnan recommends for SCIs where there's considerable anxiety.
Four years ago, I had to treat my dog for a SCI suffered when he was attacked by an Akita. He was out of it for a day, then went lame on his right side, which seemed odd given that he had a puncture wound on his left shoulder. The lameness worsed over the next few days, and he stopped defecating, then stopped urinating. I was desperate! By then I'd deduced a probable spinal contusion with bowel and bladder paralysis. By then he could no longer climb stairs or even get into the car.
The remedy in his case was Causticum 200c, 3 pellets every hour for six doses. Within a few hours he was up and moving about; the following day he was able to urinate and move his bowels. (I continued the dosing for another day.)
Peace,
Dale

Very interesting case, Dale. What symptoms did you use to arrive at Causticum? (just curious). Rosemary

Rosemary,
Dr. R. considers Causticum pretty much a specific for the development of bowel/bladder paralysis in spinal cord injuries. (This is one of those nifty ideas gathered from his book-in-progress on neurological & cardiovascular diseases. I wish he'd send me the necessary material for the section on heart problems so we could finish it!).
Peace,
Dale
