I believe that individuals involved in Homeopathy may be interested in
the below quote in Newsweek. There is an option to comment on the
story (the story itself is about a single Connecticut physician under
investigation for the treatment he offered to a Stage IV cancer patient
who died.)

The below quote from senior staff at the NIH's NCCAM is very
disturbing. Dr. Killen was previously at the Division of AIDS research
at NIAID and transferred to NCCAM, where he has been promoted ot Acting
Deputy Director.
Dr. Jack Killen, acting deputy director of the National Center for
Complementary and Alternative Medicine, says homeopathy "goes beyond
current understanding of chemistry and physics." He adds: "There is, to
my knowledge, no condition for which homeopathy has been proven to be
an effective treatment."

Adler, the author of this piece, is the same man who had an anti-homeopathy article in Newsweek a few weeks ago. This last week's issue of US News & World Report, which had a long section on CAM, also dismissed homeopathy as not supported by "large" studies (query what constitutes large).
On reading Adler, it's not clear that the patient was even treated with homeopathy. (I certainly know no homeopaths who make the kind of money this doc was charging!) The main sin seems to have been in encouraging the patient's belief a cure was possible -- or, more accurately, not discouraging her delusion. How many allopaths behave the same way, offering false hope because they don't want to upset the patient?
Fortunately, some folks are sending in angry replies, but as usual, we need to be more vocal.
