LPHS

A few days ago the patient I mentioned a few weeks ago (the one with the
kidney problem and severe pain attacks, for which he was given morphine
and other big pain killers) has been diagnosed as a case of LPHS – Loin
Pain Haematuria Syndrome. This site
http://renux.dmed.ed.ac.uk/edren/EdRenI ... nLong.html
might give some useful info. Apart from pain killers, there seems to be
nothing allopathy can do, also because it is unknown what is causing the
pain. If anyone would like to speculate on this (the cause of pain) and
on possible remedies, please do. And what might be happening, in a
metaphysical sense, if you are loosing blood through your kidneys?

Hennie

Hennie,

I have seen this. In my pre-homeopathy days, I had to treat it in a family
member. In his case, it was not idiopathic but caused by IgA Nephropathy,
and it responded to dietary changes (whole foods, vegetarian diet, lots of
water). His urine was turbid during those attacks, and the hematuria was
often microscopic. The turbidity led me to believe that the pain might be
caused by fine gravel irritating the glomeruli.

Years later, he had a recurrence. This was after his IgAN had been cured by
homeopathy, and the presentation was loin pain minus either the hematuria or
turbid urine. After numerous visits to the docs and ER -- and after reading
Dr. John Sarno's book on back pain -- I sought a psychiatric consultation.
Turned out the cause this time was depression, which apparently chose to
manifest in the one site where he was used to experiencing pain.

The mind-body connection can be a scary thing.

Peace,
Dale

Thanks Dale.
Seeing his recent reaction on Bach-remedies (Gorse and Vervain), it
could very well (partly?) be a depression, here, too.
Thanks again,

Hennie

Imagine this (this is about my sister and my (former) brother in law,
and it’s a bit longish..
She left him in 2009. In 2011, they were officially divorced. In 2011,
he started using Oxycontin for his LPHS
(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loin_pain ... a_syndrome ). He was
suffering from kidney pains years before 2009. Over the years
(2011-2018) he stated to my sister (meanwhile they get along rather
well) he had been to the hospital, was prescribed a diet, low in kalium
(potassium) and several other restrictions. A kidney transplant was
discussed, but he didn’t meet the requirements. Over the same years, he
has tried several alternative therapies, some with initial improvement,
some with none, but he’s persisted in none of those. Over the years, he
lost weight to (now) 55 kg, he is 185 cm, it’s skin over bones, he’s
worn out, always tired. The last couple of months, he frequently
couldn’t hold his faeces to get to the toilet in time. Last week, my
sister said: Enough, I’m gonna get you to the hospital *now*, and he
agreed. "Who is your doctor at the hospital?" "I don’t have a doctor at
the hospital, I’ve never been to the hospital, I’ve not been prescribed
a diet, for the last 7 years I just picked up my GP Oxycontin refills at
the pharmacy and I haven’t seen my GP in those 7 years."

Baffling, right?

The hospital found he’s badly depleted in kalium (potassium) and several
more minerals.

About him: He always only has been satisfied with the finest in
everything, shoes, audio, cars etc., even if in fact he/they couldn’t
afford it. He’s an Aries and behaves as such. If kidney problems are
related to fear (as is said), his desire for expensive quality might be
compensating behaviour for a fear of being unmasked as a failure, or
being not good enough.
If any of you feel the urge to say something about this, please do
(maybe especially about the baffling part, or any other part).

Hennie
