We have a small terrier in the neighborhood that has lost all the hair on its back - scaly skin- and it grows in sometimes in some patches - on Belly and the rest of the Dog normal hair. Puppy is fearful and afraid of almost everything. 7 years old - Mange has been ruled out by Vet. Any suggestions?

Not a vet hom, but she needs one. These are pretty clear-cut vaccinosis symptoms. There is no single approach; a remedy suited to the individual is needed.

Vet ruling out 'mange' is irrelevant...treat by the symptoms,take case history and repertorise as ususual.....possibly Sulphur and Psorinum are indicated

There are plenty of homeo.vets available.

Thank you, will let the owner know to find someone who is knowledgeable. There are just no Vet Homs in this area.
My question is the dog has developed this after about 3 years (she is now about 7) and a shock of moving and owner dying that I am sure is a consideration. Do you think it would be a good idea to give a remedy for grieving because I am sure that there is still an issue with that. Don't you think?
But you are right it need's a real case taking not of the cuff stuff - just thought that some one may have similar case in which a remedy has helped. But every case has its own make up and needs to be - looked at individually. The Dog is very lively and other than the fur issues and the fear,she does not seem to have other health problems.

This little fella as I remember very easily frightened and I thought of Phosphorus

Hi Gisela,

I have added below a brief piece I wrote about a dog in a similar situation for an article I did. I have also included a YouTube link to a before and after video of her. I should have shot more footage but at the time was only videoing her for my own records.

Molly (the dog) was initially treated with Psorinum and did very well for about six months before relapsing. A follow-on prescription of Baryta carb has fully cleared the case with improvement on all levels. Not only does she have shiny healthy hair, she is confident and interacting with all members of the family and visitors to the home.

The noise in the first part of the clip especially are cicadas - insects that make a terrible noise in the gum trees around our property during summer.

When Sallie first came to see me she was a sorry sight! Large areas of bare and scaley skin covered her back and hind-quarters. Her once glossy coat was dry, rough, and tangled with fur balls. She was constantly scratching. In spite of frequent baths, Sallie was also very smelly.
