deep, quick inhalation - now lost grounding

Hi Tanya,
Thanks for the response to the questions.
It is interesting to note how things repeat.
Do you think these rubrics might have applied at age 17? (Please note this is a question.)
MIND - HOME - desires to go
MIND - DELUSIONS - home - away from home; he is
MIND - DELUSIONS - home - away from home; he is - must get there
so it is a sense of being displaced or estranged
and perhaps ungrounded within themselves.
------------------------
Shattering illusions, finding out the Emperor has no clothes on or more
simply put, becoming aware things aren't like we thought they were, can
be a traumatic.
Do you think when the illusion is shattered, the grounding is lost, followed by
the grieving process, and then the construction of a new "reality" and
re-grounding? If not, how does it work?

Leilanie,
I think you hit on something that never occurred to me.
When the family left their native home, this woman did not
want to leave. She was involved with a young man and the
mother thought she was too young so she just moved the family
across the ocean. I never could get any real discussion about
her emotional feelings other than she didn't want to leave
her homeland.
She made adjustments here fairly quickly and was married
before she was 20 to a man that was mentally and emtionally
unkind, if not downright abusive to her. She remained in
that marriage for years because she didn't want her family to say
she wrong/had made a mistake (pride), and she felt that a divorce
would have been a betrayal of her ideal. She doesn't come
across as being very idealist, but I think she is. As another
example, for years she was angry with the medical profession
for not being willing to deal with her eating disorder respectfully.
There were several years of discussions about her needing to give
up her expectations of that profession.
So there are old themes of pride and righteousness, forced removal
from her childhood homeland, idealism (beliefs about marriage,
religious purity or honesty). Her first pregnancy was aborted by
a doctor, we think, without her consent. She was newly married,
not speaking English very well at the time, and was given drugs
that resulted in a miscarriage. I suspect that hormones were
administered: she developed hirsuitism shortly afterwards and
still suffers with it today. This becomes another betrayal of
an ideal. This experience, by the way was 'forgotten' for years
until she was on a remedy. It slipped into a discussion without
her thinking about it. It stunned me as I recall and I stopped
in my tracks to have her repeat it. She told me she had been
writing a letter and found herself describing this piece of her
life without realizing what she was doing. I don't remember what
remedy she was taking then, but it apparently loosed up the memory.
this was about 12 yrs after the incident. But it always surprised
me that she forgot about it. Pregnancy was something that was so
important to her and she was not that young. But I digress.
Interestingly, she feels her current husband is someone she was
married to in a previous life. If I recall, he was lost at sea.
So this marriage is another coming home for her.
As for your second question reagarding loss of ideals. Yes I think
it ungrounds her. She crashed internally. Recently she stopped
being as social as she used to be--ever since her bi-pass surgery
18 months ago. (A real broken heart). I don't think she grieves
very consciously about these things-at least that is not her language
with me. I do see her stuffing it (constant grazing at the
refrigerator). I also think she has lots of hurt-taking others
behavior personally and lots of anger at her beliefs being betrayed.
Currently she is sufferring a number of physical problems besides the over-
eating and large weight gain this year. I am thinking it is all related.
Your questions are most germaine and are tweaking my gray matter.

snip.....................
Hi Tanya,
I noticed the words betrayal and ideal being used quite a bit.
This is a question: is it possible the two young 17 year olds made a
vow to be re-united?

anything is possible. i can ask her about
teenage vows. this woman doesn't like talking
about her feelings and really avoids it. part
of her spirituality is to work on staying positive
and joyous; negative feelings are hard for her to
deal with i think, so there is lots of avoidance
behavior. doing her case can go on for several
weeks as she doesnt respond with any sense of
timely follow through--although she is generally
a very responsible person with her family and work.
and yes, betrayal and idealism i think are themes
with her.

Yikes, I hope you read this before you see your client.
"Teenage vows" is my projection, after reading about
one incident in this complex case. It would
be descriptive of my state, not the clients.

i think it a valid question that deserves exploration.
this woman has some deep issues that are very difficult
to get clearly defined. the 'home' issue is very real
i think, as i tried to express in an earlier post. i
know this woman very well over many years and feel quite
comfortable asking her questions-there is a lot of mutual
trust between us. so don't worry about imposing your
state of mind on this subject.

The Institute of Noetic Sciences media library, Shift in Action,
(conscious change) is available FREE until 24 Dec 07.
I've just downloaded all of Bruce Lipton's "Biology of Belief" talks
and am thinking about Dean Radin's "Entangled Mind" series.
Are you familiar with any of the names and if so, who would
you suggest? (Time is running out and there are soooo many
choices.)

i am not familiar with noetic sciences, so i have
no suggestions to make. i did look quickly at one
of the links. there are a couple of names i am
familiar with, but the not the concept of the group.
i do gather they work on spiritual change in the world.
but that is a very loose concept.
