No coincidences - The Enemies of Reason (Channel 4)

Hi Christine,

This is a repeat of the programme shown back in August.

What is interesting - I'm writing an article about it now - is the
timing of this latest rash of anti-homeopathy articles.

In the autumn - The Early Day Motion in Parliament about the need to
keep NHS homeopathy finally reached the required 200+ signatures of
support which allows it to be debated in the house.

October: An article appears in the Guardian imploring politicians
not to support it and the public to write to their MPs and ask them
not to support it.

November: THREE anti-homeopathy articles appear in The Lancet, none
of them saying anything new - two of them containing no references
whatsoever.

December: Sir David King - scientific advisor to PM Gordon Brown
weighs in with his Daily Mail article headlined : Homeopathy Puts
Lives at Risk - in a nutshell an insubstantial article claiming
homeopathy is dangerous because patients may not get proper diagnosis
for serious conditions and waste time taking placebos - article
online has a ridiculous full colour photo of someone pouring green
liquid into a vial of sach lach globules, and a photo of Sir David at
his desk - presumably designed to make the short article look more
substantial......

December: Re-run of the blatantly biased and unsubstantiated Dawkins
Enemies of Reason.

There have been others but these are the main ones.

There are no coincidences. As for making a documentary - we are
already in production but (not to sound paranoid) I won't talk about
it on this forum because as we know it is infiltrated.

Keep focused and don't take anything personally.

Hi Carol

This is the first time I've seen it, and would have missed it had I not got
up early. Makes me so mad anything like that. It really is totally biased
and unsubstantiated
