I would always start with a low C if unsure, especially if depleted VF or
very sensitive.
And always in water potency
I would start with 6C in 8 oz of water in bottle, take 1 teaspoon and put
in 4 oz of water in cup and take 1 tsp.
Then proceed as normal with use of water potencies

Can always go up in dose and/or potency
But can't undo an aggravation or injury as easily..

If you have a very old patient who is not strong to say the leaset, and you are NOT VERY SURE of the rx (he does not speak your language and the relatives describe the situation to you without great percision) and you decide to give him one remedy which you think can help him -- which potency will do him less harm if the rx was incorrect LM or C?

I was at a lecture by a Homeopath who treated many senior citizens, and he (can't remember his name off hand) stated that you need to use LM/1 for a really long time up to six months, and not change the potency very quickly.

I have not used LMs much in old people.
But I have used C potencies in old people. I have used 6, 12 or 30
where appropriate. Not much repetition. I usually start with 2 or 3
doses of the remedy in one day and stop. Watch. I have also used water
doses with them for 3 doses and wait. I would err the side of caution
than otherwise in terms of repeating.

You can use LMs.

One test dose and observe for 3 - 4 days. Then repeat as and when the
patient's symptoms demand - Not automatic.

If you encounter any agg problems, double dilute.
