The Fight Back for Homeopathy LONG

I like your post for its spirit-
My take on this:

At this moment there is no need for allopathy to do it and we are not
in a position to do so.
Esp.when we do not know what we are...Also they are the established
medicine- even in India - sometimes homeopaths have resorted to giving
injections since doctors is synonymous with allopathic approach

which can

May be - but they are not the ones being run out of town- in Tamil we
have a saying - dog barking at the sun is not going to matter to the
sun - that is what we are- yapping dogs against a juggernaut- this is
not a fight we are going to win by entering into a competition- the
playing field is NOT level Vera- we need different strategies

refer to
standards
basic

Each country's licensing requirements vary and that is only natural
since the preponderance of different diseases in different parts of
the world...Probably doctors in US need not the same experience in
certain diseases that Indian doctors need,...but allopathic doctors of
a particular country are required to take the country's licensing
requirements

for use of

There are standards in each country and once again these would vary

I think part of the first step towards a

There are differences in policies. I think that is expected.

So drug approval before use

Sure - that is no problem though, I am not saying that they have
global consensus.

There would be individual differences, and there are different
specialities as well...but that is neither here nor there- are you
saying since MDs have faults we could also have some...any
qualification / certification / training ensures that the person has
the MINIMUM qualifications for practice

treat the
purpose of
preventive, invasive,

I think a combination of all of these- but I do not think at this
point we are going to succeed in counter accusations and fault
finding. The onus is on us to prove that homeopathy works... the
damage has already been done -if we go according to the accounts of
Manish Bhatia- I do not think we are going to achieve anything by
pointing out the perils of allopathy - Give them credit - world wide
there is an effort at evidence-based-medicine in allopathy. Insurance
companies now have started publishing information on which doctor
practises according to the best practices and patient approval rating
etc. Point is - in homeopathy we have no accountability- none at all...

some. But
questions

My background is in psychiatry and so used to such !!!
Also probably the only specialty where getting beat up by patients is
a regular occupational hazard ;-)

we are
Hahnemann did in
essence

Definition is not for the sake of fighting Vera though it could be
useful there as well. Definition is necessary to set standards. It has
nothing to do with allopathy - it has nothing to do with anything
external... and it does not have to be confining... As long as we have
a way to say that this practice is homeopathy and this practice is
not- of course there will be some grey areas because of newer
approaches like Rajan's - but that is ok- this will get assessed and
if the profession likes it it will get assimilated- at which point it
will be an accepted method- but till then we need a parking space for
such practices and that is where the label "experimental methods" will
be helpful...

Homeopathy is seeing an organic natural growth- based on a natural
evolution - practices come and whatever succeeds stays - but the rest
fall away- but what I say is to survive in today's market place we
need structured and facilitated growth- how do we give such a
structure - by defining it- otherwise how would you know what to grow
and which parts of homeopathy allow it to grow and become part of the
general picture instead of niche player...

To fight against the companies and their incredible and
interests

Sure - but here we are clueless
Definitions are really not the issue in this part
perhaps Dana

Definition is still part of it- but not the only one-

language,
of the

This is what I say is structuring...you cannot coordinate and focus
without having some structure and goal in mind

What do we want here - to be allowed to practice officially, quietly
couple of

You cannot be recognized officially without some kind of standards and
accountability- without official recognition there is no peace -
because you will not be left alone-

We are not under the radar anymore...

we are not here to show that the "others" are worthless- it is not
the Homeopathic way of fighting this- we have to prove that we are
good- that is the homeopathic way

Homeopathic way is improving the constitution or the terrain - that is
to improve ourselves and the way we do things in such a way that such
accusations of being just a placebo cannot be made...it is not
suppressing things and working under the radar... it is by coming out
and stating who we are and fighting for that...

Homeopathic way is beating "them" in their own way- by becoming more
evidence based, more standards based... similia similibus curentur- (
not by booing them down more loudly by talking about their deficiencies)-

it is by getting allopathic doctors to our side and making them fight
our battles for us...

That is the reason I support combinations- make Homeopathy easily
accessible- let people do a lot of self-prescribing; but we should
also make sure that the message that best prescribing is done by
selecting an appropriate single remedy with appropriate potency...
since combination remedies are given for names of diseases- homeo
pharmas should actively market these to allopathic doctors... educate
them on these- and prove to them by scientific studies that
homeopathic combo pain killer is better than allopathic pain killer
and causes less side effects - evidence based medicine- once they
accept that homeopathy ( as combination remedies at least) are as
effective as allopathic drugs and do not cause so much side effects
and can be prescribed without really bothering with core delusions
they will buy into it.. take the appeal to their level... not talking
about holism, not talking about alternative medicine allegiances etc.
But if we side with charlatans and allow all kinds of strange
practices to flourish in the name of homeopathy, allopathists will not
come near you- if we smell of too much weirdness, this will put off
most of the "sniffers"-

Homeopathy came out of allopathy and was created by an allopathic
doctor- that is what we need to portray to allopaths for them to
listen... Give them specific remedies - talk less about potencies and
organon - you will win the battle...and then once they find out about
the effectiveness then they will delve deeper into the intricacies...
remember I always said we need to have a tiered approach - lay people
and beginners start off with combos and here we can include allopaths
who start off in homeopathy as well- and then we have the regular
homeopathy that we have followed for years- and then the experimental
fringes - which is for people who are inclined to experiment and
better their practice -

The central tier is what would call good homeopathy- the middle way-
no problem for me
Never said there should be a limitation but still there is to what you
want to be taught in homeopathy for example - is carpentry homeopathy?
I have said a qualified practitioner should have the liberty to
prescribe whatever is therapeutic-
At some point he has to raise his gaze and
strategy, to

true- but we should also be careful who you call your allies are- and
should not be fighting phantoms of our own making....may be what we
call an enemy is only there so that we could fortify ourselves...to
realize who we are -

Hahnemann survived,
scholarly, I

Quite frankly I do not find it interesting either- for the very reason
that nothing we talk would make any difference

If a practising, active and teaching
(and I
chances in

What would a practising, active and teaching homeopath find
interesting? Probably tips on prescribing and day-to-day practice-
Would a call to allopaths to define themselves make it interesting to you?

Lots of us do not look beyond the tips of our noses...as I said
Homeopathy is trying to grow an organic growth- there is nothing
planned in it... so people need not take interest in growing it- it is
an evolution - we might die out or survive wholly or survive under
the banner of something else- after all in US homeopathy is taught in
Naturopathic schools !!! -

Whatever happens we have only ourselves to blame -at least mostly-
not the allopaths...If we have invited the wrath of the establishment
now - may be it is because we have become so popular that they feel
threatened - or may be now they find us faltering, floundering without
moorings or such a silly force that they think "this is the time we
can get rids of these gits...when these homeopaths are in a meditative
trance doing provings and contemplating their throat chakras...."
